I was wondering, if I normally played 4 accounts out of 1 wow folder could i then copy that folder and remove the addons folder and just load out of each folder for different addons?

e.g. if i wanted bartender on 1 char combo yet say.. bongos on another could i have seperate wow folders for each and just load up the client i wanted to use the addons for. i know i could copy paste each addon set each time but i find that takes longer than restarting the 4 clients.

sorry if it seems confusing if so i will try and rephrase it a bit.

so your playing combo A and you want to use a certian addon then when you switch to combo B and you don't want to use that addon but a different one. so your asking if you could simply copy the wow folder but make the 2nd wow folder for the second addon and not the first? yes thats possible.

Look into the SymLink set up. There are a lot of threads on the forums to do with this.

Basically you have a single wow install, and link the cache and data folders.
Some link interface and screenshots too.

The linked folders are shared between each copy of warcraft.
The other folders have every file not linked as well as a link folder which uses the original.
So you can easily not link interface folders, and then have a different set of addons for each wow directory.
If you want a given set of addons, run the game from whichever folder has those addons.

If you symlink everything, ie cache/data/interface/screenshots, your copy folders will have well under 100 mb of space.

Not sure exactly what yer asking but you setup all the characters to use different addons and yeh dont need to copy anything

When yeh logon and looking at all yer chars click addons then I think its on top click on which ever char yeh wanna change?

I load everything from one installation and have different addons for most of my chars.

what i did was copy the entire wow folders across to another file. and useing completely different addons for each. i've also setup PiP to open each char seperatly depending on the addons i want to use.
