Ok, I'm not sure if a thread has been open for this so I thought I would start one just incase.
I would like to know your opinions about the new class weither it's good or bad, it doesn't matter. I personnely have not yet had the chance to play a dk but I have been beat up on and ripped apart by serveral dks. I know one thing is for sure is if your a clothy then fear is always open... You basically have to stay at a distance or it will end very quickly.
I have hit this class with everything I had while playing my lock and they just come back for more.

DKs are currently extremely powerful, quite possibly OP compared to most other classes. I played one in beta and have one I've been playing one live as well. Very fun class, IMO.
I personally love the mechanics. To do really well you have to be on top of your runes and rune power rotations (no AFK killing on this class). Macro rotations will be harder since misses for Icy Touch or Plague Strike will mess things up.
What did you want to know about the class? Just general fun, or multiboxing specific questions/viability?

My team is currently at 70, (5 shaman) and I too will be leveling a DK tank. However i never really tried multiboxing shamans with a tank like a pally before so I'm gonna be a little behind on macros and such. But from all the threads ive seen so far it seems a DK can be a great tank with high dps. So naturally any more feedback with DK tanks for a shaman group would be greatly appretiated. Tips tricks etc. :)

I'm two boxing 2 DKs and loving it. I can't wait to get some good pvp gear and get at it. With 4 Spell interrupts (for both DKs combined) and 2 silences it should be interesting.
I knew Hellfire would be over crowded so I opted to level in Azeroth. Once I hit 62 I headed to Zangarmarsh and skipped the Hellfrire zerg fest. This kept me ahead of a lot of people. Then finshing up Terokkar Forest and Nagrand I headed to Netherstorm and skipped Blades Edge. There are very few people here so I am blasting through this as well.
Currently I am 69. I have been able to finish every 2 and 3 man group quest since I hit the Outlands. Overall I really love this class.
DPS is insanely high, pretty much a rogue with a 2h and a hunters pet (if unholy spec). Iquadboxed mine through the starting zones and just destroyed everything there pretty quick and had tons of fun doing it.

Well my lock for the time is all affliction so I do some pretty good damage with my pet and affliction but at the time I was a lvl62 fighting a 59 dk and just got smashed. Yes, I do know how to play my lock so that is not the issue at hand lol.
The one thing I hate is the pull that they do to get you in close... that basically defines the point of running most of the time or getting a good distance on them lol. I also know that they are the most played class at this point and that they have insane DPS as stated before.
I am wondering if they are going to tune them down or leave them like they are.

I'm not really sure what Blizzard is going to do. If you can believe it, they were much MORE OP in beta than they are now (you could solo those rock elemental elites west of ToT and end with full HP + RP unglyphed - it was ridiculous). I personally think they need to nerf the class quite a bit, but I think they may wait a while before doing it. So I'd suggest to level one ASAP if you are going to level one at all.
With respect to PvP, they are cloth caster killers. Your only chance with a DK as an affliction lock is to stay at maximum range and kite them (CoExhaustion). If you get within reach of Death Grip, then you are done for. If you are Demonology, then you'd better pop meta and felguard stun, fear, deathcoil them immediately. If they get on you, they will mind freeze and strangulate and generally shut you down and destroy you right away. Be sure to pop your shadow absorption if you get a chance. Most are unholy spec and do a lot of shadow damage (e.g., Scourge Strike). The smart unholy ones will leap the ghoul at you and hit 'Gnaw' which is a pet 3 second stun. They'll get range and that's that. Many also have a +15 run speed, which won't help things.
Did I mention the class is currently OP? :-/

Been toying around with one the last few days.
They are really powerful solo and I was able to tank Ramps fairly easily at 61 with my 68 Shaman x4 group (in place of my Pally).
It's a little hard to get used to tanking with a DK instead of a Pally, as if I get careless with my Pally, I can always self-heal out of trouble, or DI or whatever.
Still, I am impressed with the DK thus far and I fully intend to replace the Pally with the DK.

Yea, that was what I was thinking as well. I am not a person to run but when I see a dk I usually stay away from them.... lol. I think it would be pretty fun to play a dk and I am really looking foward to it when I actaully get the money for it.
I was partied with this one Dk and he pulled a whole area into him (5-10) and didn't die at all. I haven't played to beta but I get the point on where you are coming from. Blizzards new baby and they wont change nothing unless they get enough complaints about it lol.
From what I have seen since they came out is that the unholy tree is the most played right now. I have a friend that is blood and that is something interesting. ^^

I saw three of them questing together in a group the other day then I saw the stacking auras. 6% of damage healed, thats crazy talk! I haven't run into them much, I killed one the other day to complete the achievement but thats about it. He went down like every other class tbh :) I guess when we all hit 80 we'll find out where everyone stands.

stacking blood aura's are nice. But you have to be out of blood presence for it to work. (in BP you only seem to get 2% health back, go to Frost presence, and you start getting 2% per BA buff. Least thats how it worked for my DK's) Also, the rune tap glyph that makes it a group 10% heal is nice. I have 5 level 59 DK's that are blood at the moment, and their kinda fun. I'm not sure if I will keep leveling them or not...but was considering going mostly blood + deep enough into unholy for the perma pet talent, possibly taking one deep enough unholy for its aura. Might end up with 1 frost, 1 unholy, and 3 blood/unholy, or just 5 sorta weird hybrids. (mostly I want some stuff from the other tree's, but dont want to give up 32 in blood.)
Anyway, the oddness of the Blood aura stacking and it not stacking wtih Presence (WTf?) makes me wonder if its gonna get nerfed at some point so that stacked Blood Aura's don't work. Anyway, as it stands, blood is fun cause you get lots of health back hehe. I havent honestly tried an unholy or frost spec...
As far as macro's go, for the starting area you can just spam all the strikes and destroy almost everything if you have5 of them. Actually, you can probably do that for a long time....But after the starting area I switched to a castsequence and it works ok. I have no idea if i min/maxed my DPS or anything, but I just went with the logical progression of strikes. Ended up with a button that ends with pestilence/blood boil (kinda an AE button) before redoing the unholy and frost strike, and the toher button just cycles through the rune based abilities). I have another key for death coil (the 40 RP ability), and mind freeze and use those as a runepower dump when I remember. Horrible button spammer... I stuck my 5 rune taps on the keys I normally use for heals on my team with a healer so that the appropriate DK runetaps, lol. Eg alt 1 = the 'main' dk runetaps. tho honestly now that I discovered glyph of rune tap I'm probably just gonna do a castsequence. I sorta expect my macro's to radically change as i level, but meh, its a start.
I like them, but probably impractical to keep 5 of them. Tho, dropping a DK and adding a healer would make it a totally viable PVE team, so I might. Dunno. Really into my baby hunters (yeah, i know go stand in line at midnight the day of the expansion, get home, make 5 dk's, play to 59, then go back to leveling my mid 30 hunters, lol...)

I just started one tonight, and now I know where a lot of the creative energy for the expansion went. The DK starting zone, and quests, blow all of the other starting zones and quests away. It's a BLAST. I leveled to 56 in under an hour, and barely got into the third (?) phase, when you have to go place the cauldron.
The phasing technology is *amazing*.
The cannon quest is more ZOMGFUN than the bombing runs.
It's the closest to a Necromancer from DiabloII yet.
I'm definitely leveling 3, as a team. :)

I've been soloing a lot lately and absolutely love the death knight. The starting zone is fantastic - and the final quest is quite cinematic.
It was meant as a side project - while I levelled my druid but the death knight is soo much fun.
It's also going to get me back into multiboxing more.
I figure get my DK to 65 (he's just shy of 63 will easily get him to 64 next session). I will then join him up with my 65 paladin.
I'll respec the pally as healer and will just flash of light spam heal the DK and occasionally consecrate.
I may join them up with my 71 druid at some point.
My unholy DK can solo elites two levels above (Generally I die and go in ghoul form but it works). I did the rockgiants in Hellfire solo and on the last one had finally worked out the way to do it and still be alive at the end of it. With a backup healer he will be unstoppable.
Also - The Deathknight ability path of frost is awesome in Zanagarmarsh. Dont waste time running round the lakes or swimming slowly, run over the water at 100% mounted.

I say when arena starts, a week or 2 later there will be a huge nerf to dk. I also think that they are OP. I am dual boxing with my priest and all my priest is really doing is smite and the rare greater heal. I can easily tank 4 mobs 2/3 lvls above me without a problem, and end the fight with at least 95% heath if not 100% health. This is all in BC with there orginal gear. So unless wrath is different, DK are too over powered. So i would lvl one now when it is easy.

I would 3 box some DK's if it weren't for the fact my server is WAY over populated with them already >.<

I need to stop going there, the WoW forums are an insta-good mood killer. :(
I'm still intrigued by how well 3 60 DKs will do in instances. I'm not going to 5 boxes until January or February, so I have time to experiment - I'm gonna level 3 DKs and mix and match them with my other teams. From what I'm reading, tanking with a DK is a little bit of work, but I think it's do-able.
I think it would be cool to 3 man instance level DKs through Outlands. :)
Very fun class overall, likewise I've parked my Paladin in favor of rushing my DK to catch up with my Shamans. Now i'm in Northrend blowing things away with the group, and things are going really smoothly. As stated earlier, it's like tanking as a Paladin (if you're Unholy) but no LoH or bubble crutch to fall back on when you aren't paying attention. DKs work really well in a mixed group too, but honestly it started giving me tension headaches trying to keep track of everything lol. I think the problem really comes from the rest of the guys having no gear. The DK was the only one with gear, everyone else had been RAF Boosted. Even so, with a DK in newbie gear, and a Resto Shm, Boomkin, Frost Mage, and Aff Lock I was able to clear all of Ramparts as soon as I was out of the newbie quests. Which, is considerably better than I did with my Paladin and Shamans initially. And there's just something so satisfying about Death Gripping someone and then blasting them away from you with 4 Thunderstorms.

Take a look at elemental shamans wich is one of the worst classes atm (pre lava burst) Ive seen 1-2 so far and my server is HEAVY populated... People roll FOTM and blizzard needs atleasst 6-7% of the player base to play deathknight so a easy way to do it is to make them very strong in the begining.
I cant tell if they are OP or not since i only fought one and that was 5 vs 3 :P..
Deathgrip wasnt as devastaing as i feared at all for a boxer.
However it will be funny to see 5 man teams who runs with 2 deathknights.
The first pull it towards the group then the other pulls it behinde a pillar! GG!!

I have at least temporarily replaced the shaman on my main account (Siaea) with the Undead DK (Clotte). Currently she's lvl 63 (shammies 70) and I've completed all the group quests in HFP including instances. A couple of humorous incidents:
Doing the last of the Forge Camp quests (where you get the key and shut down the last one) all my toons except for my DK were inside that portal. All of a sudden Clotte get's death gripped into a crowd of 3 60 DKs. They start pounding on her, and right before she dies my 4 shammies have 4 EM/Trinked chain lightnings charged up, 1 shotting all 3 of them.
Had a Horde DK following me around watching my team of 5 obliterate people, and the funniest thing is to Death Grip some hapless Alliance into a forest of Fire Nova Totems. That, my friends, is funny.

There is content that is only accessible if you create a DK. ;)

I think the unholy tree is the most played out of all of them at this point and time. Seems like you live less when you go up against a unholy then any other one out there right now. But it would be nice to give the cloth weares a nice fighting chance :P but any ways I like how they are dark, it makes them look pretty cool :)
Up in outlands there where like 20-30 or them running around the other day while I ws mining. What's funny is when you're in a battle ground and you see a dk pull some one while they are mounted trying to run away.

My shaman team at 70 hates Dks that are around level 67. Suprised me how irratating they were. Think I will roll a team of them. :) If my RAF wasn't up I'd roll a team of ret pallies. Those seem to just plow through my whole team in about 15 seconds.
Been pulling 12+ mobs at lvl 60 (same lvl ofc) and coming out with enough health to just pull the next group. Tbh at this moment they look very powerfull, but lets just wait untill lvl 80? I'vé destroyed a few on my pally with little effort (had to get the achievement :P)
