Is there a thread theorizing DK specs for level 80 for MB tanks? This is what I came up with

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/deathknight/talents.html?tal= ('http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/deathknight/talents.html?tal=000000000000000000000000000305203 01000000000000000000002350023301001150501512031331 51') 00000000000000000000000000030520301000000000000000 00000235002330100115050151203133151 ('http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/deathknight/talents.html?tal=000000000000000000000000000305203 01000000000000000000002350023301001150501512031331 51')

gives all the useful unholy talents (IMO anyway) and some VERY nice low tier frost talents including one to make you fear/charm immune as well as reducing enemy attack speed and giving extra armor.

Critique? Advice? Changes? I'm all ears.

Edit: Also takes increased range on icy touch - I feel this will be useful for pulls and pvp (if you include the chains of ice range increase).

There's an article on WoWInsider that sums it up fairly well.

There's an article on WoWInsider that sums it up fairly well.I haven't seen this article, but is it even tailored towards multiboxers? A lot of times we have to play a lot differently then a regular tank and therefore our talent builds may be quite a bit different. I personally chose this spec for ease of use and least amount of complication it would cause using a DK with 4 shamans in tow. Just curious.

Was still on the bottom of the front page last I saw. How lazy can ya get? Not lazier than me, apparently! :D

No, but you asked about specs, and specs are not going to vary THAT much. It will provide a good starting point at the least.

Yes but I would hope all of us here are smart enough to get the "basic tank talents" down without needing help. I'm specifically interested in min-maxing multibox tanking.

You already seem to have figured out that Unholy is probably the most useful to us. Their spec for Unholy is perfectly fine, at least as a better starting point. For example, it catches Blade Barrier - one of the basic DK tank talents - which you seem to have overlooked.

You haven't made use of the advice I posted so far, so I'm going to stop for now.

I'm simply trying to start a discussion about this. "Go read this link and stop asking here" doesn't contribute to a discussion.

I didn't overlook blade barrier, I just didn't find it nearly as useful as some people think it is. I don't find that my blood runes are on cooldown (as of now) enough to make use of it, that may change as I hit northrend though.

Hrmm... that was an interesting read, thanks for the lazy-link!

I'd thought frost would be the way to go, but I can see the benefit of Unholy now.

I think that this is what blizzard wanted it to be, but also wanted every spec to be able to tank, so in doing this they made unholy the best tanking tree. This is why the frost "aura" increases threat, cause frost was originally going to be tank spec. Never know they might fix everything in the next patch.

I would take out the nerves of cold skill out. The developers already stated (yes i know they usually go back on there word) that 2 handed will never be equal to or more then a 2 handed weapon for tanking. A lot of the players too say that it is better to go 1 handed then 2 handed. For wowinsider

And yes, I'm still recommending ('http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/09/15/lichborne-dual-wielding-and-weapon-scaling/') that you grab a 2-handed weapon for tanking, no matter how tempting it might be to grab a Sword of Heartwrenching Slaughter ('http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44736') and a Blade of the Empty Void ('http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44745'). Any extra defense or parry skills you pick up will still be negated by the extra attacks the mobs get in when they parry you.

Hmmm good point - originally was thinking about having the dual wielding bonus for when I solo play but since that may never happen (or at least not often) it opens up other points.

I would think the only difference between MBers and others is that we would want more AOE agro (threat).

This is my main build, http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=j0xZhxZfgoI00ogeVocsut once dual spec goes in I'll have http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=j0EMZGxxthcdRhR0ssx0g as my secondary for raid tanking bosses. I played around with perma ghoul and tossing a ghoul at people and blowing him up via Corpse Explosion, but I ended up going back to the first build. There's a lot of good info for DK tanking found here:
http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f14/40694-death-knight-aoe-spec-mt-spec-rotations.html and elsewhere on their forums.

blade barrier was given to DKs so that they didnt get slaughtered tanking when all runes are down, it's a good thing (as Martha would say)
