XP penatly for group?

Total noob here on searching and fact this may be totally normal. I have been playing a lot since wolk release and watching people level right by me. I am playing group of 4. Just thought I sucked at leveling then notice my son is getting 1700xp per kill (rested) and I am getting 300 (non rested) is the penalty that much for being in group?

Yep, just proved it, I feel so much better about how slow I am leveling now compared to others :-D 1/3 the xp would make huge difference...

You also need to look at it this way, while they level 1 character you are leveling multiples it will be slightly slower sometimes depending on how fast you quest/grind/instance.

in the end:

A. you get 100% exp form quests (alto of them are grp)
B. you kill shit faster (x4)
C. in the end he will have 1 lvl 80 and you 4 lvl 80 :P

You actually get a group bonus. 300 unrested = 600 rested... x 4 = 2400 xp per kill for your group. Your son only gets 1700 per kill. Each of your toons gets less per kill, but you should kill stuff much faster -- and many/most quests should take your group no longer to do than your son. d8^)

hehe yeah, I should be killing stuff faster, but I am leveling 2 warriors, 1 priest and 1 pally, not a group I practiced with much, so I am kind of sucking at killing very fast, pally healing great, priest doing okay dps, 1 warrior doing awesome dps and 1 warrior often admiring the view in the opposite direction of fight :-D though when the pally is 80 going back bringin the 4 shammy's up will go fast, kills in instances are 2400 xp per kill not rested :-O

No, I was a masochist when I leveled two warriors and a priest by themselves one a time, this is easy mode compared to that. :-)
