Horrific Lag and Disconnects

whenever I try to play on Whisperwind, I get 10000+ms lag and inevitably dc

ping and tracert (and reverse tracert from level 3) look completely fine
which makes sense because the lag seems to be server specific
I played a bit on Cenarius and was getting excellent performance
whatever's happening is happening after my poor packets go into blizzard's server farm :/

i was pleasantly surprised when i logged on last night, it really wasn't laggy at all. of course, that was just the early birds so with people playing after work/school, it might go to hell. (crosses fingers)

Just for kicks, have you tried disabling all your addons?

But ya, 2nd the release day thing. Its going to be _bad_ for a couple of days to say the least.i very much doubt it's my addons cuz i wrote them all... but i'll try anything at this point!

Try hiding out in an instance that might be more stable. But yea have fun getting pissed at the game for a week or 2.

When BC came out I found that loop around the dark portal with fel iron deposits and no mobs. It seemed like evey server crash/reset the mining spawns would reset. SO I liked it when the servers would go down.

What dailies are you talking about? The old world dailies?

I hope this isn't true. My plan for the day is to do the island dailies, followed by full Shadow Labs, 1/4 of SV and Arc. Doing labs, sv, and arc for the kara key. Going to skip the dark portal until i am a little higher in lvl (still scared to solo that one). I know, i know, kara is a old raid that the gear will be out dated, but i will need the key to do my weekly attunment runs to see if the mount drops. So hopefully (and i really do hope) that this will put me at 70.5. (2 kara quests [1) frag from sl 2)frag from arc and sv], the quests for SL, and the quest for the the arc key [already the 2 peices have just waiting for the turn in]). After this is done i think i will start grinding in the new instance until at least after the weekend. This weekend will be really bad i think.

I got a lot of quests done last night on Northrend. Even then, I was shocked how many people were playing at 4AM the day of release. Insanity, really. The biggest problem I had was the first time we tried to take the boat, it disconnected everyone and stuck us in a floating ship in the middle of the ground in the Dalaran Crater. We all had to hearth and try again. Thankfully, the second time worked. I guess taking 100 people at once on a boat is bad news.

I can honestly say I played a couple hours last night and all day today so far with no lag or issues.
