View Full Version : Going from 3 to 5 accounts with RAF

I did read all the RAF Wiki and posts here, but would like some opinions on what the most efficient way is to do this.

I currently have 3 accounts: A B and C.

A has a level 70 that does dailies, is well geared etc.

A, B and C each have a level 43 shammy that have been 3-boxing, not RAFd.

I'd like to add accounts D and E for a total of 5 shammies.

I see two options: A invites D and E ... *or* ... B invites D; C invites E.

Which way would you go, or is there another option?

I'm a little confused in your description, but I will tell you this. If you plan on taking the Level 70 to help power level the lower levels, then do **NOT** make the referral from the 70, as the referred clones will not get the 3x experience. In order to get the 3x experience, you have to be within a few levels (i'm guessing 5-10). I was going to power level 2 shammys with the help of my daughters 70 mage, but since i did the referral from her account on 1 of them, the referred account didn't get the 3x experience boost.

In my setup, i had my daughters 70 mage (Account A) do referral B (brand new account). B referred account C (brand new account). with a group consisting of the 70 mage (account A), and two low level shammys (B & C), B would only get normal experience. Once I figured that out, I rolled a new shammy on my daughters account (Account A), and leveled 3 of them together so that they would all receive the 3x experience bonus and using my 70 warrior that was not linked. From that, I was able to level all three from 1-60 in 26 hours /played

Thanks for the reply. I do see the problem that if account with the 70 invites, there is no RAF XP bonus while boosting.

No matter what I do, I'm only creating 2 new accounts with RAF so there is no way to have all 3 of my current accounts benefit from RAF. :wacko:

I really depends on what you are going to do. With only 2 extra accounts, at least 1 current account will not have any RAF XP bonus.

If I was in your situation and wanted to 5 box, I would use B and C to RAF an account each. Use those to four box up a group of new toons to a point where they can group with the L70 (L62??) through questing or boosting. You could then gift level two of your shamans to 60.9 for alternates. At this point you could also transfer a gifted toon to your fifth account. Total = 6 60s.

Alternative 1, A and B unlinked; C -> D -> E. Level up a trio to 60 and a trio to 31.9. E can gift the 31.9 to 60.9 on D; D can gift the shaman and the 31.9 to 60 on C. Total = 6 L60s. Then you have to transfer 1or2 toons to five box. Not a good alternative IMO.

Alternative 2, A and B unlinked; C -> D and C -> E. Don't see any reason to do this, but you can level a trio to 60 and one toon on C from 1 to 60.

Personally, I would consider canceling at least 1 account and buying three new ones. However, it really depends on your goal and reasons behind only getting two new accounts.

It does look like canceling one of the original 3 accounts and RAF-ing 3 new accounts might be the most efficient way (though not the cheapest).

I was in your exact situation.

Three existing accounts with toons.
Wanted to have five accounts.

I went like this:

A RAF --> D
B RAF --> E

C was not linked to any account, so could provide boosting.

End result:
When A/D are grouped, and within 4-5 levels of eachother they get the 3x exp bonus on kills/quests.
When B/E are grouped, same thing.
C does not have to be within 5 levels of A/B/D/E for those accounts to get the bonus exp's.
C never received bonus exp's from the RAF program.
C can run ABDE through quests to get them to 15th level in a couple of hours and then instance run them.
My C account had 70 Hunter (quest greens/blues), 70 Shaman (late T5) for boosting.
15-30 Deadmines/Stockades, an afternoon of play time.
30-44 Scarlet Monastery (Grave yard, The one where you acquire the key, Armory then Cathedral last) most of a Saturday.
44-53 Zul'Furrak at 43/44, keep the lowbies way back, by 45 its not an issue. Open all the graves, do the pyramid. Main can summon Gahr'zilla. Did this range in a Sun Afternoon/Evening.
53-60 Quested in Un'goro/Felwood/Winterspring/West Plaguelands/East Plaguelands skipped all gathering quests, except those where I could buy everything for all toons on the AH. This was Mon Evening.

With boosting, your lowbies level very quickly.
Accounts A/B will receive 29 granted levels for each toon that levels from 1st to 60th - on Accounts D/E.
Account C gets no granted levels.
You can transfer toons between accounts, even during RAF ($25 per toon, as normal).
Only levels gained on the new accounts count for boosting levels, moving a 60 there doesn't get you 29 levels to boost.

Thanks for the help.

For reference, in case someone else searches for this later (/hope).

A has a 70 for soloing, dailies, disenchanting, bag making.

A,B and C currently have 45 shammies for boxing.

A nor RAF

B->C

D->E

Rolled 4 new toons on B,C,D,E (D and E are shammies, B and C are a pali and a priest).

The 70 on A is boosting the 4 new toons in instances and will take them to 45.

At 45, I'll stop boosting and regroup the two 'old' shammies on A, B and C with the two new ones on D and E. I'll quest and instance them together, Only A will do the cloth turn ins and gathering quests to try to make up for no 3X XP (it won't be enough, but will help a bit). The gift levels earned by B and C will be used to level the pali and priest to 60.

I can use this system to level up a few other teams before the RAF expires.

A nice side effect is that I don't need to go buy 4 more copies of WotLK for quite some time (only A has it).
