Whats the processor load on each of the CPUs when running 4 and how much of your ram is being used by all 4 clients? Screenshot of your taskmgr would help.

Open your task manager while are your wows are running and you are lagging and go to the "Performance" tab and take a screenshot of it and let us see. Also, what is your screen composition; one monitor or two, dual monitor mode or horzontal span?

Have you setup to use all 4 cores of your processor?

Your hardware setup is pretty similar to mine and I get acceptable performance running 5 copies of WoW.

Key things to do:

1. As mentioned, make sure each copy of WoW is running on it's own CPU core. Best way to do this is KeyClone, setting the CPU affinity in the "command" tab.

2. Are you using symlinks (Vista) / junctions (XP) for your Warcraft Data folder? This can make an enormous difference performance wise, and is described on the Wiki under "Operating System Specific Topics). In fact, I found a much bigger improvement in my performance doing this than moving to a solid-state drive.

3. You don't describe your monitor/account setup, but it's important for best performance to have your slave accounts use small window resolutions, decreased visual detail settings.

4. Have you set the maxfpsbk parameter in WoW to a low frame rate like <10? Again, the best way to do this is through KeyClone.

If you're using Windows XP, that's your problem. You don't actually have 4GB of RAM.

I actually have 3 GB of ram and im using vista :( what do you guys mean set up each WoW to its own core? Like set one WoW up to core 0 and set another WoW up to core 1?

XP32, yes. XP64 works fine.

Windows XP x64 is limited to 128 GB of physical memory and 16 terabytes of virtual memory. And haven't I seen you giving out this same misinformation before? Several times? Please, keep XP vs Vista and 32 vs 64 bit straight...

LOL... who uses XP-64? Crappy driver support. That's so 2007.

But, anyways.. yes you are correct. XP-64 will report all 4MB.

I actually have 3 GB of ram

I'm a mind reader...

Get more RAM.

Do you have 4GB installed, but it reports 3GB? Are you running 32-bit Vista?

Run Vista's resource monitor. Post a screen shot of it when you're lagging.

Some of us do use XP-64 - I do, anyways. Driver support is fine for the hardware I have. I just hate Vista.

Ever since I have stepped foot into northrend my preformance has taken a nose dive.

I have seen an increase in my lag since 3.0.3 not sure what it is but no big deal. Sometimes for whatever reason it drops to like 9fps on my main window. I am using XP and have 4G but of course only like 3.2 is recognized, but before this it was running a bit more stable I might get a hit when I install WotLK tonight but with everyone running to Northrend I will not have such a large load in Outland since its prety empty.
