Currently i started today 1 paladin + 3 shamans multiboxing, very great i love it, but should i spec protection? or can i still tank well as RET doing pre outlands instances? Thanks!

Go prot imo. You can dps harder in the long run as your pally will need less healing.

don't even 5 box with a pally but i'd suggest going prot

I'm using Prot for mine and all my DPS casters can spam their attacks without me losing aggro.
I highly recommend it! :D

I have never really played Ret, but have a good RL friend who has and we have had many discussions. We always end up with the fact that Ret can kill 1 target faster then Prot but that Prot can kill 10 faster then Ret.

I leveled my pally solo as prot and she was the fastest of my 4 solo 70s, faster then my warrior, rogue and lock. What prot pallies can do as far as AoE grinding is just insane. When you combine them with a class that can have crushing DPS and heal the Pally, wow! Prot is the only way to level a pally MBing or not IMO.

At least that was the way I read it.

Go for Protection before Outland. I am leveling my Paladin with protection spec right from the start, and you can pretty much take a lot of damage with the paladin, and the new talent tree will give you some nice tools even before you enter Outland dungeons, to master the dungeons. As mentioned above it all comes down to being able to take a lot of damage, and stay alive. You can pull lots of mobs, hold aggression very well, and kill the mobs without much hassle with your other toons.

why would you need to be ret when you have 3 shamans who can easily handle the dps?
do prot. keep the aggro on him and call it ez mode.
