I remember talking with some people back in late 2004 about World of Warcraft but had never played an online game before so I was a little skeptical. However I've always loved RPGs. So after getting more prodding from the same friends I started the addiction in mid 2005 (between April & June - can't remember the exact date only that I played that Summer).
It wasn't until June of this year that I started multi-boxing after watching some amazing videos of Shamans running heroics.

Been playing WoW since open beta. My first MMO, but I played a LOT on a MUD from '98 till WoW took me away from it. "Quit" for 2 months 2 years ago after I graduated from college. Realized I needed to focus on getting a job so I cancelled my accounts and said I wouldn't renew till I landed a job :).

After I finished high school in 05 a friend brought it round and told me I had to try playing this game. I loved it and so bought my own account and have been playing ever since.

Started the first week of January 05. Things I remember from back then:
Was doing a corpse run across that pond behind Goldshire and somebody hit me with a fireball.
Getting ganked by an Alliance rogue outside of Deadmines. Uhhh...yeah....I was Alliance too. When I said something about it was told don't flag and it won't happen.
Flying from SW to IF and falling off the bird.
And one of my absolute best memories was in Ashenvale when three 40th level hordies showed up. Most of us lowbies had never seen horde before so to see some so close to the elf lands was unbelievable. People were talking frantically in chat (HORDE! HORDE!! HELP!!) and more and more lowbies showed up to where these "bad" guys were. There were probably 30-40 lowbies standing around gawking. I guess those horde dudes got tired of us standing around staring at them so one of their mages began walking through the crowd. I didn't know toons could walk so to see this horde up close for the first time and seeing him walking was pretty damn cool. He knew he was the center of attention! lol
Anyway, he walked through the crowd and stopped on top of this little hill in the center of all us.....and flagged. Man, I'll never forget when his name changed colors! Scared the shit outta everybody. We all backed straight the fuck up.
Man that is a great memory.

I was in closed beta about 6 months prior to release and played at launch. I've quit several times because I have about a 6 to 8 month MMO attention span before I have to move to another one for a few months.
Just finished patching and about time to go to Northrend!

I started the same day the servers opened. Im almost 100% sure it was a thursday, if im correct. Then i played quiet hardcore and joined a very good guild. Farmed MC and BWL. After that i remember that AQ20 and AQ40 came, that was cool to... Then Naxx, my favorite instance. Then i quitted for some time, a few months. I think TBC came not to long after i quitted, so i started again, took 70 in 6 days or something, was the first rogue on Drak'Thul... Started to raid some, then i quitted again. I just lost most of the interest when TBC came out.
I still remember when there was no PVP system at all, and the first day it came everyone was crying about getting ganked all the time "Omfgs what are blizzard thinking about, this is just retarded... I cant play anymore!" hahah...
Do you guys remember that imba enchant the people on rank 14 could get, just very short in the begining, then they removed it... It was a +1 lvl on shield, or was it +2 lvls? I dont remember, i just know they took it away quiet fast.

March 06
i regret not playing earlier, and join a great guild from the start.
i remember buying it just to "test", cause i played a lot of America's Army (FPS game), and within a few hours i was hooked. For me it was a breath of fresh air since lvl1, since diablo II and baldur's gate that i didnt touched an rpg... but being online was just insane. And to know the game was around for 2 years already and i never gave it a try... lol
more people came from my old AA clan, we started playing togheter, but all had different level, so we usually didnt hang out in party's.
I never thought i could be controlling 5 chars at the same time now :P
All i know is that theres nothing like the first char. everything was new i really enjoyed the game during the leveling stage.

I started July of '05. A friend at work and my dad (who dinged 60 IRL this year) both tried to get me to play starting in beta and I refused. I knew I would get hooked and have a hard time stopping. I held them off until my dad came to visit for the 4th of July weekend. He got up early with one of my kids and got installed on my computer and they started playing together. I get up, see what they are doing and want to get in on the action. I kicked my daughter to her computer and start playing on mine and that was all she wrote.
Last night my wife, two teenage daughters and I all went to our midnight release.
Since launch, quit maybe 6 times over the years. T'is my 4th MMO and for all I dislike about it there's just nothing better I've found.

I got the game at launch because I was a fan of the Warcraft Universe. I wouldn't say I'm addicted; I just like video games. I don't feel an overwhelming need to play constantly. Multiboxing is something I always wanted to do to help avoid waiting for hours to get groups for stupid things.

When it came out, I got it day 1 started playing and still play it but now quad box it, which started 4 months ago almost. I never really quit I did take a 4-5 month vacation from it where I only really logged in to get rid of the shakes when they came around.

None today. :( Been at working wishing I could get home and play.
Sucks I even have had my keys and accounts upgraded since Tuesday :(
But tonight I hope to get a few hours to play. Most likely won't hit new content, just turn in my 25 completed quests on all 5 of my toons. ;)
