Looking at a potential 4 monitor setup on one box. What kinda card situation do I need?

Currently I have a Geforce 8800 Ultra that I dual monitors on...do I need to get a video splliter, another card, or maybe SLI to get 4 monitors running? Any thoughts are apperciated.

Sli wont help you .. would only create one output. I would go with another card the same as what you have so if one day you decided to get one massive screen you could run it in SLI. If you upgraded to a 260 or 280 you cannot use those with your 8800 in SLI mode.

The other option is ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815106014 ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815106014')

I have a GTX 260 and an 8800gt and anything that is run on the second video card is unplayable, at <10 fps. It also slows down anything on my main monitor. This may be because my second x16 PCIe slot is really an x4 slot. My windows run just fine if i only run them on the main video card however.

When the Core i7 is cheap enough, I'm gonna upgrade my system, and see if i can run more than 2 monitors without a huge fps drop.
