OK, I finally got my 4 Shamans up to 60-61, and headed to Outlands......did a few quests to get the decent gear and then decided to load my 70 Prot Pally and run Ramps. I only have 4 accounts, so I did it with the Pally and 3 Shamans. I was hoping to take down that first boss and be done with it...but after 1/2 wipe and 1 hour...I complete the whole run.

I couldnt believe I just 4-man Ramps with 3 badly geared dps and a good geared tank. Now the question is do I create a 5th account so I can transfer my Pally over and run 1 tank...4 dps. Anyone make the switch from 4-box to 5-box in the 60s?

And If I go the 5-box route, would it be better to go with 4 DPS or..... 3 DPS and a 1 Dps/healer combo? Also Is the upgraded mana/healing totem in the Resto tree worth it?

LOL, this is so much fun playing, I really have no urgency to go and buy wrath for my 70's account.

I would highly advise putting together a team of 5 now.
Why raise only 4 at a time when you can raise 5 at a time?

I raised a significant number of characters to 60 during the RAF time.
Now that is up, and I've been raising a team of 5 Mages up to 68.

Tonight I am going to start raising a new team from 60 to 70.
I'm going to raise 1 Warrior, 1 Paladin and 3 Priests.
I figure I'll have the Warrior be main, prot specced and the 3 priests be Shadow DPS specced.
I intend to do some of the quests in Hellfire, get some of the loot, and then maybe a little Zangamarsh too.
Then once they are 61/62 and a little better geared I'm going to take them into Ramparts.

My plan is to raise them up to 68 over time, doing more instances than questing this time, to get used to how to tank well.

I have a similar question to yours.
Once they are 68, what team makeup to I go with?
1 Prot Warrior, 4 DPS Mages?
1 Prot Paladin, 4 DPS Mages?
1 Prot Warrior, 1 Priest, 3 DPS Mages?
Something else?

Thankfully I'll have a variety of classes at 68 to experiment with and figure out what feels best.
I really liked playing the mages, and would really love to go with 1 Prot Warrior and 4 DPS mages.
Sadly however that gives no healing at all.
A prot paladin in the lead wouldn't make much difference since he'll be busy tanking and won't have time to heal everyone while getting beat on.

But maybe with 4 DPS mages, I can burn down things quick enough before my Prot Warrior dies?
