So a few nights ago I got probably the very best hate tell I have ever gotten. It was so good that I wanted to come in and share it with you. I also wanted to hear what some of your best in game tells are while you were multiboxing...

Here is what was said to me.

"Omg Good game f*ck face you actually managed to take a MMO and turn it into a single player game. Dude get a f*cking life go make some real life friends and play this game with REAL PEOPLE the way its ment to be played get some skill you stupid sh*t and learn to play the game the right way!"

Before I could even message back I was ignored on all my chars lol.

"do you guys know each other in real life?"

I've had that one asked of me before. They guy asking it then wanted to argue that I was just joking around about being a multiboxer since he didn't think it was possible.

I hardly ever play my Shaman, and I completely forgot that I had almost the same set of tells once.

"omg duel boxing"

Since this came while I was running a five character team, I have to assume that it was an exclamation of pleasure from an illiterate innumerate. Apparently the mere sight of so much awesome at the same time brought him to the brink of ecstasy.

Idiot in AV:

"OMG YOU'RE HACKING!!!!"

my reply:

"Yes, I've hacked WoW. Out of the 10 Million people that play, I alone have unlocked it's secrets"

Idiot in AV:

"You are SOOOO reported dude"

Of course everyone else in the BG made fun of the idiot :)

And as for reporting, I usually go a step further ;-). Between my friends and I, I have access to 11 accounts. If someone is talking crap in trade chat I log onto all 11 accounts and "report spam" with each one. It doesn't take long for said crap talker to log off after that :).

There's been so much hate directed at me I can't remember a single tell lol. Just makes me laugh because there's hate all over this game because everyone that plays it is an addict. The worst wasa horde player that made a level 1 alt on a trial subscription and would just make a new alt every time I ignored him. I spent 3 days reporting him and nothing ever happened. He finally stopped when he whispered the GM of my guild to complain 3 days into his harassment and my GM explained the whole process to him, which I tried to do. He then tried to talk to me on another alt and acted like we were the best of friends.

I wouldhave to say that tell you received was pretty good though lol.

Got an "I pitty you" last night, I just lol'd and asked why? The response "It just shows how bad your life is".

Which made me wonder why people assume your life is so horrible that you multibox.

I'd imagine our reasons here are all pretty much in line with each others but it's doubful to me that we all have such horrid lives that we must escape x5 (or w/e your amount is) by multiboxing.

My best comeback line to the why are there so many of you question: Gnomish Cloning Device (works every time)

"At least I can spell" is always a fun reply. More often than not they have horrible spelling/grammar and use too many caps.

Also instead of ignoring them I just end it with a "you're right, I'm a loser, you win." They usually don't know what to say to that ;).

Yes, I don't do it often unless someone outright spams a bunch for no reason, but I've reported a few times on all 40 accounts. Usually, I do it when the opposite faction gathers up against me and one of them spams some text for about 7 or 8 lines. Then I break out the spam report hammer x40.

My best comeback line to the why are there so many of you question: Gnomish Cloning Device (works every time)I play on an RP server. This is (almost) the story I use for my shamans, rofl. Teleporter gone wrong.

Back on topic, though, I'd have to say the most memorable tells I got...

I did have one guy tell me he was in charge of one of the biggest networking companies in the world (he never specified which one) and that he had a degree at IT (never specified what) and that he knew a bunch of guys at IT had the same problem I did. He reported me to the GM so I could get help, and hoped I didn't live in his neighborhood so I wouldn't be stalking children.

No, really. The guy somehow equated multiboxing to pedophelia.

I responded with "Yes, that's why I rolled shamans. Kids are best snatched with frost-shock, it saves you candy." But he had me on ignore. =/

hate comments got so bad in WSG that I reported everyone who threatened to report me as being AFK. Even suggesting that they report got a report from me to the GM. Then i had to disconnect the chat and put everyone on ignore just so I could play the game.

Av was another matter. I pretty much ignored all hate comments. Most in BG would tell players that I was not botting and left it at that. Usually when they saw the damage boxers could dish out, most would try to stay close and help out.

Some people really believe the most stupid things.

Someone though we were sisters, so i explained my main was the oldest one and lead the pack because of that etc etc. He really believed it.

Or someone who thought i was a family playing. mom/dead/2 kids.

really, some people XD

I got asked the other day how I do the cool echo trails with my character. When I asked them to clarify they said, "You know the one that makes it look like you are being followed."

I laughed and told them, "You buy 5 accounts".

I think my most memorable whisper was when I was only 3boxing. I was heading to the FP in Booty Bay to fly up to Grom'Gol on my 3 shammies. All had the cloth gear from SM, same lvl, similar-ish names (if you call Snapette, Cracklette, and Popette similar lol). But yeah, this one guy followed my girls all the way through the inn up to the fp. He whispered me after they all took off and it looked something like this:

Him: "Why are there so many of you?"
Me: "Omg, you see them too! I thought I was the only one!"
Him: "Nope, there are 2 people following you, same lvl, same gear, same names!"
Me: "I know.. it's so strange, I can't figure it out! It's been happening all day long!!"
Him: "Wow... that is so strange..."

Oh, and one more I just remembered one more :) I was on the zeppelin (naturally, that's where most of the love/hate tells come from lol) and this Shaman that was 10 levels higher than me asked what talent it was that allowed me to have copies of myself. I told him it's in the elemental tree and he went to go look it up so he could do it too

I got the "how do you guys do that" tell once I just said "we use vent," dude says, "oh damn my vent lags too much to do that."

Another time I get a whisper "I just told my ally friend where you are you f...ing botter," i killed and camped his 'friend' for about 30min. then responded to him "hey man I'm bored with farming your friend he doesn't drop gold do you have any more?" for some reason he ignored me :(

Also instead of ignoring them I just end it with a "you're right, I'm a loser, you win." They usually don't know what to say to that ;).
Yay, someone else that thinks like me.

Them: "I pity you."
Me: "Yeah, me too."

Them: "Dude you suck, you have no life."
Me: "I know, please don't tell anyone :["

I don't know why, but this sort of thing seems to piss people off lots :D

I never ignore people, I'd much rather get them to insult me more so I can report them and they can take a 3 day break to think about what they've done.

However, if someone seems willing to listen, I gladly explain "wtf" I'm doing, this happens more often as I'm on an RP server.

However, if someone seems willing to listen, I gladly explain "wtf" I'm doing, this happens more often as I'm on an RP server.I feel that. I really do. CC is an rp server as well. There are days I feel that RP servers must live under a rock or something - the clamor over MBers on the wow forums has been loud and strong for a while now, and I still get hit with people who *don't believe me* when I explain what MBing is.

As of late I just reply in-character. So much epic.

Them: "How are you doing that?"
Me: "Doing what?"
Them: "The copies of you"
Me: "Look, when *I* figure it out, I'll tell you."
Them: "Oh, come on"
Me: "What, you think I *Asked* for this?"
Them: "Just tell me already!"
Me: "IF I tell you, will you quit staring at me like that?"
Them: "yes"
Me: "Fine. I found some sort of ruined engineering device out in tanaris. I pushed the big red button, and now look at me."
Them: "..."

And so on.

One of the funniest tells / replies was a guy sending me tells for over an hour after I convinced him the the people following me and killing everything I 'tried' to hit were hackers. I wish I had the whole convo screenshotted... it literally had me doubled over laughing. :)

I'd have to say the best tell was from a lvl 1 horde alt, just after I finished an AV match.

'Dude, you just destroyed a 25 man Crushridge premade!'

I responded that I wasn't aware it was a premade.. but it was a good match. :)

He went to explain that he'd told them I was in the match at the beginning and that they were gonna lose. That was a bit of an ego boost... ha ha. Nice to not be harassed by the lowbie horde alts for once. >)

hahaha, this is the funniest tell i've recieved.

I multibox 5 shamans.

I had been playing for about 4 hours and I was pretty tired and about to log. I had been questing in Tanaris going from one place to another (using ghost wolfs to move because I didnt had a mount yet) and using lightning bolt/chain lightning, going to gadgetzan and then back in the field, and so on.

So I notice there is an extra shaman in my group! So I ask the guy "Your following me, how long you've been there?"

Guy: "about 20 minutes"

Guy: "This is pretty fun"

This guy was a level 70 shaman who set himself on /follow and he was using the same spells I was. He was careful to let me tag all the mobs first so I would get xp. LAWL I didn't noticed he was there until 20 minutes!!!

"do you guys know each other in real life?"I got my favorite just after I started. 3 druids in the Barrens all named the Hansons and I get the quote from my sig...

"Are you guys brothers?"

I couldn't stop laughing for 5 min because that's a line from the movie Slap Shot where I got all my names from.

When people ask me why "we" all look the same, I usually reply, "We're a team! We gotta fly our colors."

I threebox a prot pally/holy priest/fire mage group. I usually like to run instances and invite two random people to fill out the group. More than once I've had somebody send a whisper to my pally saying,

[Groupie] I think the priest and mage are the same person...
[Me] That's ridiculous. Nobody can play two characters at once.
[Groupie] They are! Just look at the way they move. They always move together and stand side by side.

I usually egg them on a little bit longer and fill them in on the truth after the run is over.

I was running around with my Shaman team in lower barrens one day and got a tell from a guy running past, the conversation went like this

Ignorantfool: Cheater.
Me: Cheater? how am I cheating?
Ignorantfool: cheater cheater.
Me: It's not cheating actually, it's called multiboxing, or dual-boxing, go to www.dual-boxing.com to learn more about how legit it is.
Ignorantfool: I know all about multiboxing you cheating **ck
Me: Well, you obviously don't if you still consider it cheating. So get some facts before you blatantly make a douche bag of yourself and spew weightless asshattery to sound like a big tough e-peen obsessed moron
Message not received, Ignorantfool is ignoring you.

I didn't see the point of spamming him with my other toons, it's a waste of time imo.

Thats pretty much the worst that I've gotten so far, most other people are either fine with it and give a "Cool! Multiboxing" or "lol multi". Others seem genuinely curious about how one person can play 5+ toons at once.

Him: OMG haxor!!!

Him: Your botting!
Me: no I'm multiboxing and if you knew about botting then maybe you would want to check out dual.boxing.com for more info.
Him: you sell those accounts when your done?
Me; No, these are my main accounts now,
Him: common dude, Im not a GM, sell me one of those sweet mages!!! They are uber sexy!

This is very shortly after I hit 70 with my three shamans. I get a random tell from a level 27 mage.
Randomguy: hey can u lvl my char
Me: What?
Randomguy: ur like da best player on wow
Me: I assure you I am not.
Randomguy: but ur awesome
I was sure it was one of my friends at first, since they've been known to do similar things, but they all swore it wasn't them.
Some of the other classics that I love is this one warrior that tanked some instances for me. He was already in my group and I invited a healer, who immediately goes "Shock1,2,3? WTF?" and the tank goes "Oh, he's bots. But he's cool." Which started a short conversation where the tank insisted that I was in fact botting and that blizzard would ban me for that. Even though he was cool with running instances with me.
And this last story wasn't a tell, but rather vent convo. At the time I was in the second most progressed raiding guild, and the first most progressed was doing a pug SSC. So I got all three of my guys in. The only real problem was that the other guild was a Chinese guild. Probably half of them spoke English well enough to be understood and to understand native english speakers but in vent they were speaking mostly Chinese. So all throughout the raid I would keep hearing "<something in Chinese> Shockone, Shocktwo, Shockthree? <more chinese>". I think they had people continually asking about me throughout the entire raid.

cheater, hacker, botter and "are you selling them when 70 ?" are rather common and doesn't really annoy me - depends on the attitude of the person, wether I can be bothered to even reply.

I went to IronForge the other day (my first visit, in 63 lvls) on my way to the Dark Portal (still just visited outland for the first time yesterday on this team).

A server transfer dude with, get this: Thunderfury! starts: "what a waste of time!". It took me about 10 seconds to compose a reply, which I then dropped and instead wrote "o rly?" * 5 and popped my Timbermaw trinket * 5 and mounted up on Wintersaber Mount * 5.

I got a good few laughs out of that. :)

Well .. it's difficult to remember which one is the best, but this recent one is one I found a real 'wtf'.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2317/3009077170_13ac23c835_o.jpg

In short: A guy says I'm a loser because I'm multiboxing, then I ask him why that is so because I have lots of gold or because I can afford 5 accounts and. Then he asks twice if he can join my guild.
I didn't reply to his last question, because I already answered him.

The funny thing is that he reminded me of someone I had put on my ignore list months ago. His name was 'Epicwarrior' ... I suspect it's the same person.

i once had a guy in the area outside sunken temple look at me and wrote in /s ??? will one of you shammys come and heal in sunken temple.
i told him, oo i am them they are me, and neither of me can separete ourself to heal in your group.

he lole'd and ask how come there where five of me,
and i told him, oo i just asked a game master if he could give me 5000 gold
and the game master said nooo, but i can make you five time as irritating and seperated me into what you see infront of you :P

i waited a few min while he lol'd and lol'd some more. befor i told him i where joking and that i where simply put multiboxing aka controlling all 5 of the char's with a keybaord broadcaster program and macro's

i been pretty much lucky with with my realm and those i have done instances/raids with. i been puging onyxia, mc, zg,bwl, and aq20 with various people even tried a horde raid yesterday that failed :P and only one person have done /spite and only two other have considered me cheater/cowered even after i told them its legal blizzard approved. ironicly enough those two, where in the same guild as my main raid rogue "soon to be put to sleep" so i told them to go and wash there filthy mouth with soap its me i am in the same guild as you guys.

The most funny thing happened some days ago coming from a former guildie of mine with whom we raided pre tbc high end instances (with my single toon) for lots of time.

He: OMG, a multiboxer! You must have no life at all and probably don't even fuck in real life.
Me: Yes, you are almost right. I run a porn movies production company and have no time to fuck at all... btw, Powerwar here, these are my personal army for fun and profit.
He: Lol, nvm then. When is your next movie release? You know I like your movies alot.
Me: No new releases till February, but feel free to buy the last month releases... I have to pay for all these accounts somehow :)

And when leveling with a friend of mine were testing his spell reflect in the Nagrand arena and some idiot mage came and whispered me "You suck". I killed him and repplied "And you corpse run"

Rarely do I get screenshots of the funny ones I run into, but one I should have happened the other day. My FEMALE Blood Elves are named Greatlegs and Greatbody. Both are level 64. I RAF'd them together so they could join my other team. Mind you, I RP between my team quite often just for giggles and the other day I get this tell from this guy.

Dude: Hey
Me as Greatlegs: sup
Dude: Remember me?
Me: Uhhhh.....remind me.
Dude: We quested together at level 7.
Me: Yeah!! I remember you! (No really but wtf does he know)
Dude: It was me and you and Greatbody questing in Ghostlands.
Me: Yeah I remember that. How you doing?
Dude: Good.

After a couple more tells about nothing much he then asked:

Dude: Is Greatbody your girlfriend? Shes pretty cool.

I debated for about a half a second on saying yes, but something in the back of my mind said to do that would be wrong on so many levels. Instead I said I multibox and that I play both characters. He then said, "but you two were talking to each other." And I said I do that sometimes to mess with people...

....and that was the last line spoken. He didn't say another word.

I had some dude from Dreadmaul seriously bad mouthing me in AV one time. probably the most abusive guy I have heard so I shift clicked his name to find out his guild. Turns out he was in my main's raiding guild. I checked our forums and there was his application, accepted for trial not 4 days ago. So I PMed our GM with a link to the screenie of his abuse. He recieved a gkick within a few minutes with a message, "you represent our guild where ever you are in wow, many players have alts on other servers and odds are your actions in battle grounds will be reported back to us. In this case you abused one of our solid raiding members which is not tolerated in this guild."

karma is a bitch.

My favourite is "how do they all have the same gear?"And I always answer it's a guild requirement, and I don't like it.

I got this once when I was running 3 mages..around level 10....from another level 10 mage.
The mage had the same gear I had on (quest rewards).

I was literally too dumbfounded to respond for a few minutes. Then I just responded with "...From quest rewards....like you..."

Love the 'how do they have the same gear' one. Get that alot.

a real wtf is i've been asked if i was a twink a few times 'because we all looked alike and had the same guild and same class and same name'. is there some twink thing where 5 people make the same class/race/face/name char and twink similarly that i don't know about? *scratches head*

one of the most common ones i get is "dude are you guys all the same person?" to which i respond "nah, we're roommates. We practice formations and combat 8 hours a day. Constantly shouting commands and stuff."

blahblah says hi ladies. looking good tonight
blahblah whispers to Samani especially you. you look the best.
Samiri cries to blahblah
Samaka cries to blahblah
Samori cries to blahblah
Samahi cries to blahblah
blahblah whispers to Samani you didn't tell them i said you look the best did you? i mean you do but you don't have to tell the others

at least he didn't ask to meet in the IF-Stormwind Tram tunnel to express his admiration for me.

One time I ran into another 5 boxer and a non-multi boxer was amazed and dumbfounded when he saw us.

I recently had a kinship mate in Lotro busting my chops about doing it and saying it wrecks the game. So I told him that I do it because I lost my running partner because he went to day shift. I game play durning graveyard hours so I miss out on alot so I bought my own help till I can either find another running partner or my old one comes back. I reminded him that he gets to play durning prime time hours in the evening when most people in the kinship are online.
I even went as far as to say that if my hours got better and I got the 8 to 5 shift and could run with them all the time I would consider not multiboxing anymore as I would have a group to go get high end gear with.

Well, later that night the kinship had decided to do a Urugarth run and do all the bosses for the Champion of the Ashen Wastes deed, Only problem was their was only 5 of us, and he was one of the 5. We were looking for sixth, everyone else has either doing something else or had gone to bed for the night. So I offered to bring my multibox alt for more DPS. Group leader said ok and we proceeded to run the whole thing and did it in record time, They even did everything possible to make sure my alt stayed up and neither one died durning the instance.

The next day, he is going on about it again, I said to him, Funny that someone who benefitted from a multibox session is complaining after he walked our of Urugarth with a new title and deed. He said he still feels the same way, but he is not stupid, he would still go.

He ended the chat after that. Since then he hasn't said a word to me about it because of it. I have found most of my kinship is receptive to my multiboxing because I have helped them doing it. Other night I even had a couple guys wondering where I was, because they wanted to go do a Carn Dum run for another deed that is rather hard to complete solo. Of course I couldn't help but smile :) And I have only been doing this now for a little over a month.

I originally levelled my Shammies on Thrall, where I got my share of hate/confusion, but since transferring to Silver Hand I'm mostly left alone, and when I do get tells 90% of them are people who know all about multiboxing and are pretty positive. Most of the rest are confused, I've really only had one hate tell on this realm (by someone convinced I was a gold farmer -- like there's any such thing any more).

Anyway, best tell was probably about 10 days ago, doing dailies on the Isle. I had to AFK for some reason so I'd parked my shammies in the middle of the quest pickup square, spread out, all mounted on brooms and 3/5 with sinister squashlings out. When I came back I saw I'd gotten the whisper "Your team looks awesome!"

hate comments got so bad in WSG that I reported everyone who threatened to report me as being AFK. Even suggesting that they report got a report from me to the GM. Then i had to disconnect the chat and put everyone on ignore just so I could play the game.

Av was another matter. I pretty much ignored all hate comments. Most in BG would tell players that I was not botting and left it at that. Usually when they saw the damage boxers could dish out, most would try to stay close and help out.I havent played at level cap yet, but from what I've gathered its best to stay away from wsg as a boxer and focus on the other 3(4) bg's. That works for me anyway as I love to do wsg solo on my warrior or mage.
