Does it really matter?? Use your right to not click it! Who cares?? I've never understood the insane rant about the gold sellers....If you don't like them don't buy from them! Why would anyone pay money for the gold anyway? It's too easy to get for yourself in the game!

It's a matter of not wanting our multiboxing community associated with gold selling.

It just gives ammunition to the whiners who have it in for us.

This.

When the uneducated come here they say "OMG gold seller sponsored, wtfhaxbot". The ads reflect poorly on our community.

The fact that we take swift (as swift as we can) action against the offending ads, I don't think reflects badly on us at all, I think it relfects that we're trying to be legit and follow all the rules. Moreso than MANY guild hosting websites where you go view a guild's website and theres 5 banners for gold buying or selling.

the logic of this tread has no bearing in reality. 99% of people over 10 realize what advertising is the way free stuff is paid for and don't make the connection of what is advertised to the program receiving the advertising. advertising is target toward the age group of the programs target market.

e.g. what would people think if they saw a viagra ad listed here, would they think the people using this sight have a difficult time maintaining an erection, are mostly old men posting here or the sight is not in control of what google advertises and just ignore it.

this argument is easily disproved in reality.

A question for the mods. Are these ads random for each visitor or do they cycle based on clock time or something. I never ran a website, much less one with ads so I have no idea how the ad rotation works.

I never ran a website, much less one with ads so I have no idea how the ad rotation works.the ads are region specific, someone in CA is seeing a different ad than someone in N.Y. and europe. unless the advertiser pays to be national/global.

also google can track your likes and put ads up based on the type of sites you visit. so if you see a lot of gold sellers than google logic would say that you navigate to sites that gold sellers find appealing. also if you see a lot of male enhancement ads, you spent too much time looking at porn.

it's why google is king of online searches.
