since we multi-boxers are probably at the top end of energy usage for computer users, i figured i could post this.

the article talks about a guy trying to reduce his energy consumption.

the vital piece i found was this:

$39.99 retail, but the author says he found it for $20 on amazon.

it was mentioned briefly on a thread... but i figured our energy usage is such that it's important enough for it's own post.

why do I have a feeling that this tool would simply depress me?

You know what they really need is a huge machine that monitors your power usage... and itself uses a LOT of power... that would be so zen.

Since I started 6 boxing again on 6 computers, my electric bill went up by $80 to $100 per month, but thats also because now I have to keep my air-conditioning on all the time when I play, because 6 computers generates a good deal of heat. Also, this is based on the last month or two and those were the hot months for where I live. I could go down to fewer computers and do two accounts per box, but I like not having to jump between windows. And my main monitor is a 42" 1080p, so probably not very power friendly compared to something smaller.
