My six year old brother lives in another city, and plays wow with me from his own account as often as he can. I have been on nightshift for the last month and a half and so finaly got time to log on with him today, but he ofc missed patch 3.0 and my mum is having a nightmare trying to dl it.

They are using vanilla wow, and the launcher cant start up a download without getting invalid torrent error. I did what I could to work out what was going wrong over the phone, but trying to get around computer problems that are being explained by someone who can't find their start menu over the phone is horrific. I have a lot more respect for anyone that deals out phone tech help, let me tell you ><

Does anyone have any idea of a safe dl site for patch 2.4.3 to 3.0 that covers vannila wow? Everthing I have found so far has been in German, which was not so helpful.If I can grab one, I can just link it to her in an email and leave her to it, we were planning on reaching Org tonight.

Good morning,

First, I work in tech support and work with 18 branches across 5 or 6 states so... yeah that can be a hassle LOL I feel your pain.

Second, I checked out file planet for some patch files. Let me preface this by saying that I dont see any notation that "this patch applies only to Vanilla wow" or whatever on these 2.4 files, so I am unsure whether that is a concern or not. From the looks of things, youll first need to patch his client to 2.4. All of the big patches are 2.4.x -> 3.0 that im seeing. If you look under patches, here:

http://www.fileplanet.com/184609/180000/fileinfo/World-of-Warcraft-Patch-v2.3.3---v2.4.0-(English-US)

This file claims it will "This is the latest and greatest World of Warcraft patch that will patch your current 2.3.3 version of the game up to version 2.4"

I dont see any patches relating directly to 2.3.4 (like you have in your subject line), so hoping this will work.

Once you get to 2.4, I am not sure if the in game patcher will work or not (not sure whats up wtih that). Hoever, if it still doesnt work...

2.4 -> 2.4.1 http://www.fileplanet.com/185409/180000/fileinfo/World-of-Warcraft-Patch-v2.4.0---v2.4.1-(English-US%5CAUS) 6mb
2.4.1 -> 2.4.2 http://www.fileplanet.com/186648/180000/fileinfo/World-of-Warcraft-Patch-v2.4.1---v2.4.2-(English-US/AUS) 20mb
2.4.2 -> 2.4.3 http://www.fileplanet.com/189067/180000/fileinfo/World-of-Warcraft-Patch-v2.4.2---v2.4.3-(English-US) 30mb
2.4.3 -> 3.0 http://www.fileplanet.com/192971/190000/fileinfo/World-of-Warcraft-Patch-v2.4.3---v3.0.1-Classic-(English)

For the 3.0 one it says:
"This patch is the incremental patch that will update World of Warcraft WITHOUT the expansion installed from 2.4.3 to 3.0.1. To apply this patch, do the following

1. Copy the folder named "WoW-2.4.3-to-3.0.1-Classic-NA" to your World of Warcraft folder.
2. (Windows) Run Updater.exe from that folder (Mac) Run Updater.app from that folder.
3. Get the v3.0.1 to v3.0.2 patch HERE ('http://www.fileplanet.com/192970/190000/fileinfo/').

This will patch your current World of Warcraft version. "

This is a lot of stuff but I dont see any direct way to go from 2.3.4 to 3.0. Hope somebody else has a cleaner way.

If you goto www.worldofwarcraft.com ('http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/') and login to the account management section there is an option there to dload the game client. Im not sure if its the full updated or if you will have to still dload updates on top of that.

Just to say thanks for the tips guys, couldnt find a vanilla dl, but after two days of trying everything else, told her to just run wow with administrative rights, and the download went as smooth as butter :)

Cheers again.
