Hello there!

So all this got me very interessted yesterday at work, and since i have it pretty slow on work atm, i figured id bring my laptop with me and have some fun.

I tought since im still fiddeling around with linux and wow i could atleast be logged in on the laptop in wow while i do work/try getting wow to work on the stationary.

All is pretty fine, i use synergy on both computers, the stationary is running linux (ubuntu) and it has the mouse and keyboard hooked in to it. Laptop is the client witch runs windows xp.

It works pretty fine, the only thing that dosent work is if i try to move around holding down my mouse button to use the "free" look or whatever its called, the camera just starts spinning around, its out of controll, basicly i cant stear at all using the mouse. Is this a known problem?

Should i try using something else (is there something else that even works for linux <-> win)?

Help whould be really appriciated.

EDIT1:
Its amazing what a search can dig up ;)
However the Scroll Lock (witch whould defently work for me since im just switching back and forth between a workstation and a laptop) dosent seem to help, the mouse still goes crazy when i stry to move around :(

EDIT2: Ok so i took the stupid route and it worked, i switched from the linux machine beeing the server (and not running any form of wow atm) to the windows machine beeing the server, this fixed my issues with the mouse (since i currently only play on the laptop).
Sucky part about this thou is that i first have to start the crap on the linux, the jank the k-board and mouse and plug it in to the laptop lol, i guess i can script around it but hey....it whould have been cool to get it fixed the way i wanted it from start right? :P

So any ideas for me to try whould be apriciated :)

Thanks

This is what happens when the mouse moves "Off" the screen you are controlling and onto the screen of the other PC. Its a known bug but I'm not too sure if theres much you can do about it. Other than get better with your keyboard controlled movement I don't think theres too much you can do :-(

Yea i suspected that ill keep trying thou, as u can see by my update i got a somewhat of a solution to the problem ;)

I dont plan on using linux in the future or anything, im just bored at work, at home ill be going at this without linux in the picture (other then for my lappie then that wont be running wow....or perhaps it will....oh well)

I'm fairly sure the problem isn't exclusive to Linux, theoretically it should occur on both Windows & Linux synergy solultions.

If you do find a viable solultion, please post it up as I'm sure there are lots of people who would be interested.

yep ill defently do that.

The solution now isnt really a solution, i just made sure i have the synergy server on running on the machine im currently using to play (and yea i use windowed mode in wow for smoother moving between the windows)

But this isnt an optimal solution since i have to well yea swap the keyboard and mouse over to the laptop and have nothing in the workstation :S

But it works for me for the moment atleast. :)
