I just upgraded the rest of my accounts to BC today, so I decided to make my way into HFR. My pally is 60, and my priest and mage are both 59. We went in with two puggies. The run went reasonably smoothly, aside from some bad pulls, until we got to Vazruden. Then we wiped. Over and over. I can't figure out what to do about the fire bombs. I somehow end up with bombs on both my pally and my clothies, and by the time I move them both my pally drops dead from not getting his needed heals.
Do you guys have any tricks for dealing with the fire bombs? Do I just need to wait a few levels before going here? This fight is driving me nuts!
Edit: Sorry, I guess I posted this in the wrong forum. I found some useful tips in another post in the pve discussion. This can be deleted.

Spread out and move out of the fire, that's what I do on my non shammie team anyway.

It's a PITA fight w/o grounding totem. But then again grounding totems don't seem to work on heroic mode.
Which part of the fight are you getting stuck on? Are you able to kill the ryder before Nazan lands? Are you getting eaten up by Nazan while you try to kill Vazruden the ryder?
This fight is two fold, and is kind of a gear check as well. You have to be able to do enough dps to kill both of them quickly, and/or you have to be able to heal well enough to manage your party. Speaking from experience, I would rate this fight as one of the most brutal encoutners that you will face (yes, this particular encounter was harder for me than Sethekk Halls)... The only reason why it's hard is because it's very challenging to do in sub-par gear (whereas, by the time you get to deal with Sethekk, S. Labs, or any of the other dungeons, your gear should be decent), unless you get a high level person to run you through it. Once you either outgear it, or slightly outlevel it (62-63), it will become much easier.
Try and get new gear and/or a couple of levels before you keep throwing yourself at it, otherwise you'll just end up frustrated.

Ramparts Run with multiclass boxer - any suggestions??? ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=15852')
there is a link to a vid called learn2ramps, shows u the easy way to down the dragon/rider, before even initiating the fight (skips the whole fire thing). Can confirm it works on normal mode as of 6/11/08
Good luck :)

My method of avoiding stuff that happens underfoot is to just pay attention, and physically move the afflicted toon when it happens. It's not much of a trick, I grant you! I have the four following toons (3 locks, priest) on my second monitor, set up in quadrants. It's just a matter of keeping one eye on that monitor and quickly mousing over to reposition when things suddenly look fiery/shadowy/in close proximity to a suspiciously fast-growing mushroom. Mind you, I had a lot of trouble with Vazruden myself, but he's possible to kill even doing it the hard way.

I ran HFR today with my three guys at level 60 and a hunter friend who was level 64. I tried the tactic mentioned in the other thread of having all my guys grouped together and stopping every once and a while to burst damage. Whenever a fireball landed on the group, I would have my priest cast circle of healing once or twice while moving the group away from it. We were able to take him down on our third try, once I finally got the rhythm down.
The trick to making this method work is watching for when the dragon lands. As soon as the dragon lands, I told my clothies to stay put and moved my pally right up to the dragon before the dragon started attacking. If I didn't do this, the dragon would end up stomping on my whole group with his big aoe.
I kind of like the fight now that I have a good rhythm worked out for it.
