View Full Version : WoW Bug - respawn rate of Fire Elementals in Skald?

Hi all,

Just posting this to see if it's happening in other realms as well...

Last night I went to skald to farm the Fire Elementals for motes of fire, so I can craft shadowcloth. So I rock up, clear some imps and basilisks and kill an elemental. It respawned immediately. So I killed it again. About 5 secs later it respawns and I kill it again. This has happening with all the Elementals in Skald, they were spawning as fast as I could kill them. So over the next few hours I killed hunderds of the same mob. I decided to stop at 35 primals (and cuz it was 1AM and I had to work today), but this was amazing! Apart from the primals, i ended up with 250 gold of vendor trash and got 35% through level 68, 2 engineering patterns, and a bunch of greens.

I also summoned another boxer up there (Reprisal) and he's only 63, but had no troubile killing them.

Has anyone else seen this happening?

Cheers,
Stealthy

I stopped at 32 primals lol

How is this after the realm patch that was implemented during the day 11/14?

By the way, I discovered this almost immediatly after patch 2.3 went live and I summoned Reprisal up there as well. I think maybe the two of us need to find out how many primals he got out of the deal :)

I'd be carefull here guys.

This sounds like an obvious bug, and continuing to kill these things over and over again could be considered an exploit by Blizzard.

Don't forget Blizzard banned and entire guild for farming Jaina Proudmore this way (and they netted much less cash).

Exactly why I stopped. I won't deny taking advantage of a potential bug, while I'm not certain the respawn rate wasn't intended to be this way. :)

Also, the guild that was banned by blizzard for farming Jaina Proudmore netted soo much gold they impacted the economy of the realm. That is why they were banned - not for taking advantage of a bug but for ultimately effecting the game play of others.

Please, 25k is only 5 flying mounts. Hardly a blip on the radar.

I noticed this independently when I went for my morning pre-work farming at about 7:30am server time. The spawn rate is insane! So insane that I had to modify my technique so that the elementals die at my feet, otherwise I'd just never get to loot!

While I was there, I saw a solo mage giving a fantastic example of AoE grinding. Gotta master that one day. I shudder to think how many primals he'll be going home with.

Anyway, I farmed for my usual amount of time - about half an hour - and left happy that I had more than the usual number of motes.

Has there been a post about this anywhere official yet? Any blue comments, etc?

Yes:

Just stating that it will be fixed in a future patch, probably soon. If you are farming them to sell them, hold onto them until that patch goes live, wait 2-3 weeks for the economy and price on primal fire to normalise, then start selling :)

Good idea, you might be contagious which would negatively affect the productivity of both yourself and other colleagues >.>

Have you seen that there is a server restart scheduled. Perhaps it is to fix this problem.

Ohhh. I didn't spot that. I guess they just hadn't gotten around to EU-Aggramar when I was there this morning.

Oh well. 7 primals when I only expected to get 1 isn't anything to complain about.
