Ok ive recently decided enough is enough my laptops fps drops to low running five chars in instances and in major cities to almost unplayable so im having a new computer built. So what would be the best specs possible i already am getting the fastest mother board out there vista 64, 8gb ram, 280 nivdia graphics card 3 cooling fans on box itself, and a quad four ne more specs would be nice my uncles having it built for me for under 800 dollars so i need to know specs ty. I guess it helps when your uncle can get all the parts for 50-75 percent cheaper lol.

so your laptop was running 5 instances fine before and now it is slowing down to the point you need to go to your "uncle" *cough, cough* to get him to build you the fastest computer outside of intel R&D.
while your at it, have your "uncle" add a second 280 video card and run it in SLI mode, get yourself a Raid0 with (2x 10k rpm, 150gb hard drives), and with a 750gb-1TB main hard drive to store all the cool videos you will make.
don't forget your monitors, get 2 and at least 24" each.
A system like this should also have a blueray DVD with lightscribe.
Since your not using your limited notebook keypad anymore you will want to go with a g11 or g15 keyboard.
To help make sure there is no lag from downloading porn, get the K1 killer nic.
and finally to protect your "uncles" investment, get a liquid cooling system or better yet a small window mounted air conditioner (doesn't need to be that big) and mount it to the side of a small plexiglass box built around your new space heater.
make sure it has a 1000 w power supply and a ups.
Don't forget to post the pics (of your computer, not you and your "uncle")

Tsunami managed to post with lashings of lovely sarcasm that was promptly ignored. For shame.
I think the problem with this post is it's nothing but a brag post, and to what end?
Not that I should get involved but.. meh! I wasted time coming in here and reading it, that must count for something.

can your "uncle" get me a setup like that for $1000 dollars and you keep the 200 for your help? on a more serious note tsunami did say something important with the HDD. getting 2 (or more ) in a decent raid setup with a high RPM / cache would help you a lot on FPS issues in citys and loading times. also maybe look at a seperate sound card (spare your shiny new gfx card and mobo from working on such trivial things) and maybe even a high performance ethernet card. i gather your going to be using this beast a lot so anything you can shave off of the response times would be good. also the 42 inch is not a good idea for response times, if you can live with it go for 22" with a 5ms response rather than the 30+ ms on 42" (treat it as unshowed lag and you start warrying about it when they all add up over your whole pc)
