Well...
They just released the 8port kvm multicaster combo, obviously aimed at gamers.
Then a month later this? (again, obviously aimed at gamers)
Early adopters will be PISSED THE F OFF when they release the 5/10 port KVM / Multicaster combo.
Yep with that I agree... I am fairly sure though that the 5/10 port and from what he said it will Not have a KVM part to it and will be a Multicaster unit only no switching available. I think the "5/10" port version is directly targeting WoW at least at this point.
I have not bought one, due to only needing 5 ports personally for my N52 the key board
And mouse I have set but I miss my N52! Lol
Can't they just make the 10 port KVM + multicaster PS/2 + USB version and be done with it? Buy this and box. Heck make it 5 port and make people buy two if they want to 10 box. Right now it is just confusing.

We have released the 5 & 10 port multicasters, alsong with a few other variants. I am announcing this in the "general" forum. To address Xzin's question, we may at some point in the future provide an all-in-one model like you described, but this would be a brand new design from hardware / housing / firmware on up, and this would be quite an investment in resources without our fully understanding the scope of the market. The products we are releasing now are variations on existing hardware / firmware platforms that we had already developed. We adapt these to try to provide the most flexibility for you, the users, based on the feedback we receive from you, the users. We use the same housings, basic panel designs, and modified firmware that many of our non-game related products use. This makes good finacial sense from a business perspective.
Because USB and PS/2 are radically different device protocols from a firmware perspective, with different connectors, and 10 ports represents a lot of connectors and a lot of components, this translates into a very large and complex unit. This would also make it a very expensive unit, even more so due to the small quantities of materials we would commit to initially. In the manufacturing world, a couple hundred units does not constitute solid reasoning for developing a product of that magnitude. Translated, it's a hard sell to the beanheads. We have no way of knowing how many players are willing to invest that kind of money. We know some would in a heart beat and we also know that some players are against multiboxing in principal.
My point is this. We are new to this market and as such, we need time to grow with it. Multiboxers are on our radar now, but it will take time for us to understand the scope and demand of the market. Until then we will try to provide you with the most flexible products we can, based on your input. We have also not forgotten those who have bought products recently that the "newer" products may supplant, and we are hammering out a few upgrade programs for you. For instance, for those who bought an 8 port KVM switch, we will upgrade it to a "SwitchCaster" for a small fee plus shipping. This will be announced also in the general forum, and maybe here if multiple posts are permitted, and also on our website at http://www.vetra.com/wow.html
In the meantime if anybody has any questions, fire away, or better yet, send an email to sales@vetra.com
