I started a pair of shammies on the 3.0.2 patch day, and I just hit 60 at 5 days played.
Notable achievements: just over 400 quests done, ~425g earned each, maxed skills in first aid, skinning/herbing, some skills in enchanting and mining. I did some questing in Western Plaguelands, but never made it out of Ungoro Crater to goto places like Felwood, Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, or Sithulus. The RAF bonus is almost too much...
I am realitively new to dual boxing. I started on oct 3, 2008, so about a month of experience. I did a pair of twinked 29 hunters on the horde side, with the support of my 70 orc shammy and 70 tauren hunter. These shammies were on a brand new realm, with no 70 support. I would however like to thank the guys at Frostmourne, who loaned me 20g a toon, which I used for my mount at 30, and paid back at 50. With the new patch, came the new profession of inscription, which made herbing a gold mine. That went a long way to paying for stuff, training, etc...
For addons/software, I used Keyclone (with no special setup or any of the advanced features); 2box toolkit, which I later supplemented with the keep following addon; I also used QuestHelper addon, and referenced Jame's Alliance Leveling guide; Additional addons were: FloTotemBar, NumPadBar, Auctioneer, and the mapmod from CTMOD(been using this for years, so had lots of key quest locations and herbs, mines, etc.) I have a dual core E6750 Intel processor, 2gb ram, Nvidia 8800 GTX with 768mb ram, running two monitors at 1920x1200, although I ran my two sessions at 1680x1050 and maximixed them.
Of the 5 days, much time was spent herbing/mining, 12-14 hours in WSG/AB at 29: bought AB boots at 40 and WSG bracers at 50, and fiddling around with macros, setup, etc. I did do a lot of the collection quests, although I have read that those should be skipped (probably more important for a 3+ boxer to skip these).
My design philosophy was to use one shammy with enhanced talents to lead the way, and the second shammy was elemental, and tuned to throw extra heals to the front shammy along with the lightning/shocks. Neither had any talent points in Resto, and though not needed now at 60, I did put my first 7 talent points on both shammies in the enhance tree to get fast ghost wolf.
I read and learned a ton here on dual-boxing.com, so to those that say things are too hard to find, I say pffffft! :P
All in all, dual boxing is great fun. Thanks for the website!!!
