I have been interested in multiboxing for some time now and due to the holidays I might be able to get my parents to help me finance a nice mac. My question is, with the specs I will outline below, will I be able to 5 box on the same mac? I am not looking for more than a consistent 25 fps, any more than that is gravy.

My planned setup:

20" imac core 2 duo 2.4ghz
4gb ram
ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO 256mb

Driving a second monitor (20in acer) with my 4 alts

The alts video settings will be as low as possible of course, but I'd like the main to be running fullscreen with moderate settings. Add in ventrilo, synergy, firefox, music, and a decent slew of mods (at least on the main, the alts will be mostly stripped down except for bar and unitframe addons so I don't see the same thing on all screens) and do you think this system will hold together at aforesaid 25 fps?

The video card could use an upgrade if possible, but you should be able to hit 25fps on it pretty easily.

Check out: http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?t=1040. Vultuk says he gets 40+fps 5-boxing on a 2.33ghz/3gRAM/128mb dedicated graphics card macbook pro.

I saw that, so that is what gave me hope that I could do it.

Hehe, I have to get the hardware first. That will take some work, haggling, and luck!
