I am fairly new to the whole multi boxing thing and have been messing around with various things. i have come to like 2 programs / addons. bartender 4 and keyclone for the automation between accounts.
so far i have tried doing a druid tank and a holy preist and they are now level 36 (as i was fed up of lack of tanks / healers for any end raids) then i started loosing kills from low dps. not losing the kills but not getting enough to level at a decent rate so i swapped to use 4 mages that i got to level 25 and they can solo stockades like that.
my idea was to use a 2 x mage combo for dps a paladin tank (as the main melee char to control rest on follow ect) and a holy priest.
i myself am a pure pve person even with my level 70 rogue and level 70 shaman (both on same account before i got my other 3 accounts) and i play alliance only. was wondering if anyone had any ideas / tips / team improvments that might help me out a bit.

for entering commands i normally use my G11 keyboard for basic functions like /follow (main char name) for moving ect. i then use alt +(1 - = )for the healer account and ctrl + (1 - = ) for the mages with say alt + 1 being /target (main chars name) in a macro ( i was thinking of having another function of alt + ctrl + 1 for the tank +2 for healer + 3 for mage 1 and + 4 for mage 2 ect for the healer char so i have full party function in healing. the mages wouldnt need that sort of function as they really only need assist ( i saw a macro in here about only changing targets when you have a dead target that looked nice i might try) the tank targeting functions so that would be on ctrl + 1 ect for / assist (main chars name) then main spells on ctrl + (2 - = ) in sync with each other ect.

my pc setup i use is 1 pc with 1 screen 1 keyboard and 1 mouse :P

3.0ghz duel core intel OC to 3.4
4 gig of ram
HD2950pro with 1 gig oncard memory
i run all clients from the same wow folder
also as i said i use a G11 keyboard (like the G15 without the lcd screen)
also i need a new screen as well as i use a 17 inch thing with low ress (so i was thinking of using this current as the healer on it and the other 3 on the new screen (i normally keep dps minimized to save FPS as i can see them on the tanks screen.
i also run windows XP.

sorry if this seems a lot of info for some basic advice but anything you can help with (even down to suggesting a new moniter ( i have £100 roughly for it) and yes my card can use 2 moniters even 2 in HD) but macros / team setups and any tips would be most welcome.

also completely offtopic.. does peoples perception of you change the higher level you get? (take example my mages at level 5 in IF people kept asking me to make them dance in circles ect and cute cuddly fuddly things whereas now they see 4 mages go into stockades and come out an hour ish later (i cant heal lol) i get a lot of /w HAX!!!!111!eleven!!1 /report you to GM ect whispers and the occasional (dunno if this was a joke or not) do you need dps i can join whisper.) just not looking forward to level 70 / 80 end content with the 4 mages if it increases lol.

thanks for all those that answer at all if any and apreciate any advice ect .

it sounds like you have a pretty good grasp on controlling them.. an addon i would recommend that i have come to love is Jamba, check that out. (it's specifically for multiboxers, helps with quest picking up/turning in, grouping, re-routing whispers, etc.)

i run all clients from the same wow folder symlinking will help cut down on HDD activity, shorter load times, etc.
[Other] Winbolic Guide - Symlinking for XP ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=6697')

a second monitor can be really helpful, but if you're not going to really utilize it then there's no reason to waste $$. i would wager that if you do get one, you will use it though.

does peoples perception of you change the higher level you get? from what i've seen, people get *more used* to you as you get higher level... you're always going to have the naysayers, whiners, and general assholes, and the people asking you to do something cool-- you'll find your own way to cope with that. if you respond to people positively and make a good name for yourself, then when you do get one of those assholes running around /yelling CHEATER OMG HE'S BOTTING, sometimes other people will bash him and you can just ignore it.

ok thanks man i will check them out. been reading a lot of posts on these forums and been helping out a bit myself where i can ( i can see myself being a regular here :P.

a few posts i have seen are no focus no target no leader way of targetting that seems a lot of work but for my way of playing that might be really useful to me. so much for a new guy to look at and try to understand (even if i dont use it i am gonna try it out) also next problem is to stop my foster brother from telling me to "just play the game" while he sits there waiting for a group :P
