I went to a conference last weekend and, of course, took along my laptop. In the evening I took advantage of some downtime to log in to my accounts one at a time to knock off some of the Hallows End acheivements. Got back home and went out with my five-box teams to do battle with the scourge and when I mashed buttons my character would do screwy things. I puzzled over it awhile before I realized the vanilla WOW on my laptop had re-written the macros and key bindings on my accounts. The new defaults were saved to the local files on my main system and I had to patch it all back together from backups. I knew that key bindings were being saved on the server now, but hadn't thought it all the way through.

Don't let it happen to you.

That would be a critical thing to know. I'd appreciate more information on that.

There is a script command to force a save and a restore of server saved macros.

I'll have to look it up again.

/script BackupMacros()

/script RestoreMacros()

Capitalization must be the same as above. Unfortuneately there isn't such a thing for key bindings. However, I logged from a differant folder last night and my macros were screwed up so I tried to restore them and it didn't work. Luckily, when I logged from the usual folder it had not messed anything up as it has in he past.

would deleting the wtf for the character on the not-so-reguarly-used-computer work to keep this from happening?
