I'm guessing no, doing 5s works great as 5 people focused can take out one character quickly. With's 2s I just don't think a MBer can control 2 as effectively as 2 people, maybe someone with some high 2s experience can comment. Hell I used to watch my friend on his rogue and he amazed me with how many cooldowns he was monitoring and his reflexes for changing situations. I couldnt imagine doing that AND managing a healer or another dps.

I would say it would be close to impossible. The above poster is right regarding the effort into cool downs/CC. It all about timing, I got to Glad on my warlock with druid partner(Surprise!) and it was about calling out cyclones/fears and drinking. Although the thing I like about 2s better than 5s is I never had to worry about people rezzing.

I really wish rezzing were disabled in arenas, it's just lame. However I speak from MB point of view 8)

probably... not
if you play arenas, you understand that 2v2 and 5v5 play out like completely different games.
5 people can instagib someone, 2 people can not. the benefit to multiboxing, is the coordination between 4 shamans / locks / huntards whatever and the landing staggering of spells. When you come across 4 DPS teams in 5s, they play very aggressivly and usually focus on one person. in 2s, aggressive teams are usually only 2 DPS teams. they CC one and kill the other. you cant do that as a 2boxer, you really need 2 brains behind toons for 2v2 arenas.
multiboxing in 2v2 or 3v3 arenas is not playing to a multiboxers strengths, its actually amplifying its weaknesses.
this has been talked about hundreds of times, please use the search.

The only makeup I can think of that could maybe get that high in 2v2 would be shockadin. And thats a big maybe.
I played both 2v2 and 3v3 up to 1900ish with full shockadin teams (not multiboxed, with other players). The 2v2 was harder than the 3v3. 3 shockadins can do 15k burst in less than 5 secs with 3 available stuns. This was pre-3.0. Not sure now since I haven't done arenas on shockadin since the patch.

Prior to Keyclone, with two windows open and moving the mouse between the two...
Ya I know, kinda funny...
My best combo of toons was BM-Hunter with Demo-Warlock.
I'd win maybe 1-3 matches and lose 7-9, starting at 1500 each week.
It was not a competitive team, essentially pet attack on each and SB Spam/Auto Shot focusing on one toon.
You'd definitely perform better with Octopus/Keyclone or Hardware boxing.
Two individual players each making independent decisions is too much of an advantage over your limited ability to perfectly coordinate the burst.
You'd certainly be better then some teams, but the highly rated teams with skilled/geared toons would own you.

dualboxing 2x rogues might give you a chance, since you got
1) element of suprise
2) cc capability
3) a OMG I N?EED TO DISSAPPEAR skill.
Anything else as far as boxing goes would be near impossible.
You will need a very very good macro set up and fast skills though.
edit; failure of spelling will now cause me to go to sleep. Getting late. :<
