Hey all,

I am in a bit of a limbo atm as I feel my 4 shammies become a bit of a bore. Been doing them for some time now in PvE and PvP,
getting S2 gear (S4 gloves only as I dislike Arena) and done all 5-man HC's exluding MGT.
Now I've decided a new team is needed for my endevours in WotLK but I keep hitting my head in the wall with classes I should choose.

The main thing is I want to do PvP (BG's) and PvE. I will play on Horde side as I have most of my chars on Mazrigos and have some money
to cover the basic costs.

My chars I have now are as follows,

Account 1:
70 pala (crap gear)
70 shammy
66 druid
61 warlock
52 rogue

Account 2:
70 druid (pretty good tank gear)
70 priest (S1 geared)
70 shammy

Account 3:
70 shammy

Account 4:
70 shammy
70 mage (crappy geared)

And sorry to all those who are bored with these kind of posts but I have been pondering for over a week about this issue and surfed the bords for threads to get ideas.
The 3 x warrior + priest combo and the 4 x pala combo has been some choises I've thought about, but I am thinking the PvP aspect will be difficult for these.
Also the 3x BM (or MM) hunters + shammy (or priest) is one that sounds juicy but thinking of the problems I'd face in PvP (rogues, mages, warriors) and it turned me off.
How would for example a 3 x lock + priest combo do in HC instances? Would the same specced locks work well in PvP as well? How easy or hard is it to play this combo in your opinion?

All help and suggestions are taken with warm and fussy feelings all around.

Ta.

Caster classes are the easiest to box with a melee main. If you really don't know, then go get a d10, in alphabetical order (1 for druid, etc) roll for your main, and then roll for your alts.

Ta Da!

Seriously, everyone has their own views on what's easiest. Someone rolls 5 rogues, someone rolls 5 druids, someone rolled 4 paladins, it's up to you.

Try a group combo for a few hours, if you don't like it, try something else!

Your reply got me thinking about a lot of different things regarding my history in WoW and I kept coming back to "why do I PvP"!? I've been a PvP freak with multiple chars almost since release (when world PvP was the only thing there was).
After an hour or so I decide to make a PvE instance gang and this is what I've came up with,

Tank: My crappy geared Pala
Healer: My crappy geared resto shammy
DPS: Two of my S2 geared Shammies

Will see how it will turn out, atleast this way there is no need for boosting (can't handle it atm) and I can always do a few switches to bring my priest as a healer and move my crappy resto shammy as a ele dps instead.

Thanks Aethon for getting my brain to work for a few hours. :)

As I love talking to myself out loud I might as well finish this off by saying I changed the Pala tank to my decently geared Feral tank. ;)

Your team of four shaman is boring to you - so you go with 3 shaman and a tank?

I'm not sure this will really be different enough for you - Have you dropped pvp from what you want to achieve with this team?

Have you considered going to boxing 5 characters. The reason I say this is that I saw you have

70 pala, 70 druid, 70 priest,70 mage. You could either add one of your decent geared shaman to the mix or quicklevel your warlock to 70 and add to the mix. (61-70 is very quick since patch 3). [edit corrected incorrect patch number]

It would mainly be for PVE (but for PVP why not stick with 4/5 shaman).

You would then have your classic trinity which may be challenging enough to get everything working together well.

If you don't want to 5 box then drop one of the dps... it will probably be even more demanding.

The difference with the tank + 3 shammies comes from the fact that only 2 will be on dps. I thought about the healer part and still feel that the shammy will be the best as he can take a few hits as well.

I do have 5 accounts but my 3rd comp broke and atm I can't handle more then 4 accounts (3 x acc on 1 comp, 1 x acc on old comp).

Good idea on the mix of classes and something I will have to give a serious thought to.

Will most likely change a char at a time so I can slowly but surely get the feel for it.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and ideas shaeman, much appricated.

Personally, I'd go with radically different styles, if you need a change of pace.

I've got my PvE team to 70 across the board, but have never 5-boxed them together.
This teams goal is to do every heroic as a 5-box team.
Prot Pally, Shadow Priest, Fire/Arcane mage, Demo Warlock and Dream Druid.

I'm in the process of leveling a 5x Shaman group. One shaman is 70 and basically full T5.
This team will be 4x (new shammies) Arena and 5x (all of them) BG's.
The others are 65 in outland quest gear.

I'm also in the process of leveling a 5x Hunter group. One hunter is 70 and boosted like my Shaman in team 2.
This team will do dailies and farm. It will cover all the gathering skills.
They are around 50th level, haven't played them in a while but will get to 60 before expansion/RAF expires.

I'm tempted to try 5x Druids (Dreamstate/Boomkin) or 5x (Disc) Priests.
If there's enough time to RAF them up, after the other teams are 70 (shaman's) and 61+ (hunters) and before the expansion comes out...

Well basically, each of my three teams that are around now, is radically different from the others.
I have a PvP team, a PvE team and a farming team.
Playing any of these is a big change from the others.
If you're burnt out on one teams style, I'd recommend something really different. It doesn't mean you're done with your shamans forever, just that you want to try PvE heroics or whatever as a break and change-of-pace.

How about 3xwarlocks and 2xpriests? ( or 2 of each if you run 4).

I'm currently levelling this combo and its awesome, I haven't tried it in PvP yet, but I have a feeling that it'll be good :P
And my other-half has Pally and 4 Priests - which also is a great combo and very nice for pve.
