New 5-Box Group

I finally took a screenshot of my 5-box group, still got a few levels to catch up on 3 of my priests, but will be running instances with them all soon i think. 1x Paladin, 4x Priests.

I've got two plans, will try both to see what I like best, first is of course using the synergies between shadow priests and the paladin, 2nd will be attempting the holy nova aoe setup. Gonna try shadow first see how it goes. :)

I'm not planning to do any real pvp with this group, mainly instances and pve. This is my first attempt at 5-boxing, have been 3-boxing for awhile now, so once I think i've got it all figured out, I'm planning to start a pvp group. I think the pvp group is a few months out though.

I'll be sure to keep you all updated as I go along.

I have switched to Pally and 4x Priests, all Blood Elf though.

Blackout procs are INSANE.

On another note Xzin, As everyone's well aware, you play for PvP, but do you have any PvE Aspirations? I'd be banking on our resident ten-boxer at least having a crack at Khaz at some point, I for one would be really interested in seeing how far you could get and observing some of the tactics used.

I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on a full 5-Priests, dwarf shadow priest being my long-time favorite combo since EU closed beta.
(I haven't enjoyed the Warlock path, due to shards and pet micro-management mainly, plus not being available to Dwarves).

The idea of 5 SW:P dots with VE-MF and an Holy one for back-up AOE with Holy Nova seems seducing, plus fear etc.

My end-game would be very PvP-focused but wouldn't a 5-priest struggle to level up in instances -as I understand this is the favorite way to level multi-boxers- ?

Questing should be even faster now with the changes in 2.3, if you can stand some of the gathering quests etc. Dwarf/Draenai Priests also have the new racial stun spell, which will be nice in PvP :)

I've done 5boxing with 4 priests and 1 pally since TBC release. I've both been shadow and holy-nuker and with the paladin allways as protection.

both disc/holy nuke and shadow have their advantages/disadvantages.

When you are leveling up, you will probably be best of with shadow. Especially after lvl 50 when you get VT this will give you virtually no downtime. You can also kill elites in instances about non-stop. Bosses are also usually easy to do, but you should have one priest out of shadowform on the real hard hitting ones ready for some healing duty. (shadow spec works fine for healing since you get insane manaregen)

However at higher levels my personal favorite has become disc/holy nuke. With a good geared tank you can do insane pulls and still get away with it alive. Even in heroics.

I'm hoping to make a movie of my disc/holy nukers soon, but work has been crazy lately, and I have some problems rendering my movie for some reason. It will be up some time :)

Some argue that holy doesnt give enough dmg output, and drains too much mana. With the right gear/spec this isnt the case. You have fairly good dmg output, very good healing in the process. You cause no threat with your nova, and you also get free smites through surge of light.

This combined with your judgement of the crusader and a prot/Ret paladin with sanctity aura gives quite good holy synergy.

Its supposedly the fasted way, however I maintain that doing quests would be just as quick, plus you get the massive bonus of Reputation and Quest rewards which gears you very nicely in the 60+region.

Of course its entirely upto the individual, level the way you want to. Personally I think that questing provides more enjoyment than just grinding X mobs for Y levels then moving onto Z mobs.

I'd be very interested in seeing what you have done for macros for your paladin/priest combo. I am slowly working my way through building macros for my prot paladin/shadow priest group currently, and to be honest, I stink at writing these things. :oops: Seeing what you have already done for this same class combo may help me see what I could be doing better/differently. I know its abit to ask, so I'll understand if you've got other things to do. :)
