That's not so bad. It was about that amount of time when they first introduced it. Or maybe only 3 days, still I'm sure it'll be back down to the typical 1-2 hours max in a few weeks. Based on the concrete evidence that I make up as I go along, I suspect that the acheivements system is causing issues or their having to take extra time to make sure all the acheivements transfer over with the character.

I have done 5 transfers to balance my teams since they fixed the issues. None has taken more then 4 hours. They were all account to account on the same servers though, so those might be faster then server to server.

Well, the current xfers were saying 48 hours or something and only taking about 20 minutes to an hour. So this means instead of taking 20-60 minutes, it may now take up to 3-5 hours.

I requested a transfer on wednesday. It said then it would take 5 days.

Long story short. The transaction is not pending on the website, it seems to have been deleted, and when I log in to the account the toon is not available for play.

It says something like, I can not play it till the transfer is finished.

So I hoping it still is in the Blizzard admin system for transfer. It is not showing on my account for tranfer "could be" an error.

I'm gonna call Blizzard in a few days if the transfer is not completed.

They do give those times based on others issues going on. For the day(s) number, usually that because of the patch & an Xpac on the horizon. Overall, it's not a hard process for blizzard, but GM's / Account GM's are always doing something. At most it shouldn't take more than 24 hours.

They make soooo much money on this, it's sick. The process is done completely by software and I bet GMs only check the "fishy" attempts to transfer characters that were bought. I alone have spent over 300 bucks, THIS YEAR, on transfers! Hmm maybe I should start planning my accounts more effectively, lol.

IME, the quoted time is always days ahead of actual transfer time. Even looooong ago.

However, the problem Liquidity describes sounds like a known issue on the customer service forums (thanks to various patch issues, somehow xfers got borked). Liquidity, I'd suggest ticketing a GM about your issue, or calling Billing. It is most definitely not the norm.

I spent 3 months setting up a imaginary multi-box setup...then trial accounts...believe me it pays off!

I just got off the phone with Blizz and the transfer that I initiated a week ago wasn't showing up ,and they had to open a case for me.

The representative said there was a period where the transfers got messed up and they are working to clear the backlog. He also said that they are not having any problems with new transfers. So if it has been more than a few days I reccommend calling Blizz and haivng htem open a case for you.

Well, 2 of my toons are still stuck on the "Payment rejected"-error for the 11th day now. Managed to get one of them over a couple of days ago though! :E

if your payment was rejected, its probably your credit card placing a hold on your card to prevent unauthorized payments. call blizz & your credit card company and let them know you authorize the charges.

Character Transfers Requirements:

No mail in bound or out bound
No Auctions
No Bids
Can Not be a guild leader!

Unlisted Requirement!
1 HOUR IDLE TIME

If your account has not been idle for 1 hour. Then it will take 1 hour before your account is able to be transferred. This does not mean you can not start the transfer but it will not go “Green” till after that 1 hour is up.

So if you just logged into your account to pickup that mail or cancel that bid, it will take 1 hour before you can complete the transfer. Start the transfer and then walk away or do something for 1 hour and then log back into wow admin page. Your transfer should be ready.

Good rule of thumb is always wait 1 hour!

==========

Ok now if it’s been over 1 hour since you last logged into your account, then the transfer will be less then 15mins! Many times blizzards website will screw up and not send you the transfer is ready email. Yet the account is ready and is “Green” to go.

I’ve had instant transfers but on avg it’s about 5-15mins as long as you meet the 1 Hour Idle time.

All of this doesn't matter if the process is bugged. The bug with the transfers started about the beginning of last week. Depending on when you put in your transfer, it's either in the 6-8 day wait period or the 1 to 4 hours wait period. The 6-8 day wait period is the one that is bugged and Blizzard is trying to fix it. If you put in your transfer request in the 1 to 4 hours wait period, it's probably done already. If not, it's in the limbo queue until they fix it. By limbo meaning that the characters don't show up in the Transactions page yet in the first page, they show up as 'Ineligible to move' and they can't be played. Do they know when it will actually be fixed? A customer service representative won't say but they will say it's being worked on and trying to get it resolved as quickly as possible. The Blizzard rep didn't create a case for me, just said they know about it and trying to get it resolved. He even had one character move in the long queue and said he has to wait.

I managed to get them to unblock one of them after that started. But Blizzard are working really slow on those other two :P

I had this issue once and it turned out the account/server i was transfering my toon to I already had all the character slots filled, so i needed to delete one first.

None of mine have taken more than 5-10 minutes. American problem you think?

If you are having issues with a character stuck in "limbo" for a transfer, if you have not already done so, post in this thread on the CS forums.

Blues are actively tracking it. My guess is with all the Db issues they have had these "limbo" characters got lost, literally. By posting your info up there they are mostly likely manually finding your dudes and moving them over. It sucks for sure but Blizz will make it right in the end.

Though I am sure that they are trying to get ready for all the xfers comming up when the xpac comes out, for I am sure there will be guilds migrating to diffrent servers, that people will be xfering to newly opened servers amongst other things.
