Download... auctioneer... from www.auctioneeraddon.com
In the morning, while getting ready for work, and in the evening while getting ready for bed... run auction scans.
You're basically building your database.
Create an auction toon, that will never leave the auction house, except to visit the mail box.
Your mains will mail their stuff to the auction toon who will "Batch Post" the items.
To use this feature of auctioneer, click on the appraiser tab at the bottom.
Items are listed on the left. Click on each in turn, and then on the right check the "Enable Batch Posting" and "Enable Price matching" options.
Set the default auction time to 48 hours.
Once an item is set, auctioneer will remember your choices for it.
Get a mail addon such as CT Mail Mod.
This will allow you to open everything in your mailbox, without needing to manually click on everything.
I've found, roughly 50% of the items I list end up selling after 3-4 listings, but 50% do not sell.
The stuff that does not sell, mail to whichever of your toons is the Enchanter.
Disenchant periodically, maybe on Thursday, anything that has expired and not sold.
Then either save the mats for your enchanting skill, or auction the mats.
Just selling the cloth and green's from instances, or rare blue's, and leather (the only gathering skill I've bothered with so far)...
My shaman team was around 500g in week one and 800g in week two; they're 63 now and letting the hunter team level.
One of my hunters has skinning, so that team is leveling slower, but is making more. I believe 1100g range after a couple of weeks of playing them, they're 48 now.
Alternatively, you can use auctioneer to play the auction house.
This can make you a lot of gold, but has a bit of risks as well.
If you want to do this, you'll need "Classic Auctioneer" as well as the new one; you can download them as a bundle.
After scanning the AH morning and evening for at least a week, ie 10-15 scans, your database is sufficient to start.
On the "Search Tab", select Buy-Outs, with a minimum profit of 50 silver and a Percent Less of 30.
Click search.
It will find items, from your most recent scan.. where the buyout is 30 percent or more below the average scanned value, and where the profit is at least 50 silver.
You can tweak these numbers, but a small profit on a lot of items is very little risk per item.
I'd not buy anything, unless your scan data shows you've seen it at least 20 times, 50 is safer.
People do try to scam others by listing 20 of a worthless item for 500g each, and then a week later listing the same item for the bargain price of only 73 gold.
Use common sense, don't buy anything of grey quality.
I've personally moved away from the scan-buy-resell approach, as it just took too much time.
I was consistently making 200-300g a day, based off of one scan in the evening.
I was also spending 45 minutes to an hour on my auction activity, which wasn't all that fun.
Over the summer this year, with very limited online time, just running auctioneer... I purchased three epic flyers.
So the money is there, if you want this method. But it will cost you time.
Even if you're only selling what you loot while leveling, auctioneer will supplement your income by a large amount.
Hopefully something here is useful to you.

Hello all long time lurker, Only posted once.
And first thanks to all the poeple that posted great thing on how to get startted Multi Boxing. I have come along way. I started jsut doing 2.... then went to 3 toons, but my goal was to 5 man Dungeon crawl all the old Zones I never saw.
My team, Is 1 Paly leader, 3 locks, and a Priest.
Im not going very fast at lvling, Only doing Instance runs, but I am doing RAF.
So jsut Wednesday all my toons hit 34. We are in SM now , when I started to look at my gear. Most of my locks are still in lvl 1 gear from starter zones. And some of there spells are still like lvl 28ish or so.I do have blue items ( Robes ) on all my locks and Priest from Instance runs. but......
O well long and short of it....... Busted A$$ broke. And time I run a instance over and over to try and get the gear... I out lvl it.
So the QUESTION: Anyway..... Im guessing money will be a issue all the way up to 70ish?
Sorry for the rant there. And any typos

Yeah, with RaF and no main to sponsor, gold is really a huge issue :S That totally sucks. People usually suggest "get all gathering professions and sell stuff".

Pretty much until you hit outlands, you'll be broke.
Make sure you only buy spells you NEED. No point in getting rain of fire on your warlocks, and many other things they offer you don't need. Pally: I skipped a few spells, but if you have a priest, I wouldn't worry too much about healing spells for your paladin. Priest: I'm assuming is holy/healing. Skip all the damage spells you feel like (holy fire is one) and focus on just healing spells.
Don't think you'll get your mounts at 60, either, unless you get lucky and have some BoE purples drop while you're leveling.
At 58, go to outlands, much better money in the quests out there, plus the quest rewards that you don't need can be sold for some decent cash.
YMMV, but I have days where I just vendor all the BoE greens I get because the dust/essence on my server are so pitifully low priced/flooded. If you have an enchanter, DE or sell based on your servers AH (you might actually make more selling the greens on the AH.)
Hope that answers your question/helps.

Have you been questing or grinding instances? Questing might help you get some gold back in your pockets as well as gear out your team. Also I wouldn't worry too much about getting your toons in gear. I know I was wearing my SM gear still as I went through the dark portal.

SM gear? Luxury! When I hit Outland I had a grey belt with just 19 armor (no stats) and a mace that was a quest reward from Westfall...
Once you hit Outland, though, the first few sets of quest rewards will replace pretty much every item you had previously.
Luckily, with a multiboxing group, gear isn't a big issue while levelling - even with crappy gear my 5 shamans could blow things away before they got close.
As for cash - I had to "borrow" about 600g from my main just to be able to afford everything (including non-epic mounts) up to 60. It's tough on the bank account, that's for sure!

Thanks for the replys.
I been Doing Instance runs. I'm on a PVP and have been since the day WOW came out. But like alot of players I left came back , left again. Deleted toons , came back again.
Teach me not to delete old toons... I would have gold then.
But being on a PVP . and new to Boxing... I tend to hide my toons in Instance.
My paly is Prot, My priest is Holy, and locks are Afflic.
I had people run by and tell me ....."Epic fail team.... go 5 shammy"
But to be honest even my gear lacking very very bad...... I dont die all that easy. and if I do Paly Rez. or Priest rez.. and If I wipe .. well I have the locks rez stones.
So I kinda think it wasent a bad 5 combo
And again........ This forum is great to learn from.... And like most.... I point all the other players to the site when I get questions.
So to all the Mods that run this site great job.
And to Keyclone... money well spent..... Thtas jsut FYI to all the new players.

You should be getting greens from your instance grinding... At 35, you should be big enough to go grind the boss drops in Wailing Caverns and Dead Mines. Those boss drops are pretty good until mid20s, so would be better than lvl 1 stuff!
I feel your pain though! I am dual boxing and hit lvl 35 tonight. I don't even have enough gold to buy my chain lightning skillz.
:o) But with 2 I can't grind too much in instances by myself. I may go back to the lowbie zones and grind herbs and mining ore to see if I can make some cash.
Not sure if you are a horde or ally, but most people are lazy. You can normally make a little cash selling things like the fishing book, and the first aid recipes. Especially on the ally side, as no one wants to goto Arathi to get them...
If you want a great staff for your casters, go grind the boss in BFD. I forget the name of the staff, but if you look it up on wowhead under the instance, it will jump out at you...

Herbs are selling for hugely inflated prices at the moment, due to Inscription going live. Go take up Herbalism and you'll have enough cash.

While I did seed my team with 500 gold each, I am actually net up about 200 each at 52, and thats after 5 mounts and some different purchases. Basically do the following:
1. Get big bags for your main
2. Loot everything, if your main gets full, stand there for a few minutes and transfer all loot to another character.
3. Sell grays, mail *everything* else to a "broker" character. I have found that every single thing you loot that is not a gray can be auctioned.
4. The broker character uses auctioneer to get price points for all the greens, cloth, quest items (dark iron scraps, core of elements, etc) and posts the auctions, sends money back to characters.
One other thing you can consider adding is at least one enchanter on the team capable of DEing BOP blues that the team does not need. While dust seems to have dropped in price, shards I think will always sell for more than vendoring the blue.

I was going the route of training all the spells but by level 20 I was like WTF ?( I'm boosting so I felt that I should only get my healing spells to save on cost for now. Been great so far ;)
My team on Magtheridon is having the same experience you are having... lack of gold. I couldn't afford to buy level 30 mounts until I hit level 52. I'm at 60 now and have managed to save up ~350g from selling random instance drops (greens and a couple of blues) mostly from SM and ZF. I doubt I'll be buying my epic land mounts for a long while. I haven't paid for all of my training spells... just mostly Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, and a few other essentials. My next purchases will be to upgrade my bags from 6 slotters to Netherweave Bags. I picked up 4 * 12 slot bags out of SM when I was running it. So my lead toon is doing alright on bag space. I just need to get more room on my alts.

I started my RAF late so I had level 32 gear in outlands too, lol.
My biggest problem was not buying spells. I should not have skipped leveling my profs :/ Once you hit outland things change.

This is why I have one of each profession and I took a long time to solve the loot problem so I can loot everything.

one word: herbalism
1 stack of steelbloom or kingsblood on my server, sells for 20-24g ... This should keep you easily funded, if you run stuff that has flowers in it...
While herbalism does sell insanely well right now, my goal was to level to 60 as soon as I could to take full advantage of RAF on 4 teams. Herbalism and minning simply took too long. So I skinned and looted EVERYTHING. If it was grey I sold it to a vendor, everything else went on the AH. Doing this I was actually never short on cash. Well, until 60 when I need 3000 gold for all my epic mounts. :/
Ok....please dont take this as a flame. Constructive criticism. Stop with the instance runs. Your broke, right? You want gold, right? Spend the same time that you did levelling by gathering and you will not be broke any longer. I know your trying to level your toons as quickly as possible but if you have to have that extra special something...then your going to have to gather. Plenty of things out there that will make you gold. Leather, ore, herbs, cloth plus the addon Auctioneer and you cant help but make gold. OOO almost forgot...make an Enchanter to disenchant those green items you get from instance grinding. Blues always disenchant top selling items. Tailoring can make green/blue items from the cloth you get and then you could disenchant those items then turn around and sell those disenchants on the AH.
Now thats just before you ever get to Outland. I know, I know, I am giving out advice and I dont follow it myself. But seriously, spend at least a couple of levels just gathering will give you the boost you need towards wealth.

RAF + no sugar-daddy = broke, unless you farm crafting mats or play the AH, or you just train your DPS skills.

your pally is the tank. i would suggest only getting gear for the pally. with three warlocks, you should have no problems dps-ing. plus a priest to heal... i'd give the priest some extra healing gear and thats about it. no need to max out on gear for everyone. heck, when i hit outlands, i had level 30-40 gear.

Just buy 1000g it's only $24
And that should be more then enough gold to get your toons up to 60 and once 60 all of the HF quests give you good gear to start 60s and then instance gear from there.

1.) Above poster, I seriously hope you're kidding, that kind of information is not welcome around here.
2.) I agree with the skipping instances. What happens when you go to instances? Even if you don't die, you still get hit a LOT more then just regular mobs. Every hit does a little bit of duro, so stick to regular mobs, mostly humanoid, and you'll see a lot more coins drop. True, SM has gear and human mobs, but all those hits add up after a while.

A great way to make money right now is via herb farming.
Seriously -- everyone wants a Inscription character and nobody wants to walk 2 feet outside to pick their own peacebloom! Right now Peacebloom and Silverleaf and other starter herbs are going upwards of 20g per stack on my server.

Herb is huge, but it's very time consuming. What you might want to do if you got any friends high level is ask to borrow 500g. So you can level your toons to 60, because during the 60-70 grind you'll make 1000g+ per toon.
"Aethon" sorry didn't know I couldn't talk about that stuff. Everyone I know buys/sells gold, accounts, etc... and so do all of the forums I belong too, so I'm numb to the idea of it being a "no /talk subject".

Not sure why you are broke. Are you not looting in your instances? With my group, I went from SFK to SM to Sunken Temple to Scholo. When they hit 60, I had 10K in gold from just selling the cloths and the rare+ items that I had disenchanted. By the time I hit 70, I should have enough to buy each of them their epic flyers at this rate. Make sure you are looting and buy as many bag for your alts as you can. Load them up, head to AH and sell the crap by the bagloads. If you aren't making a crap ton of cash, something is very wrong.
