i would like to hear from my fellow aussies how they are finding the follow lag / follow break in av. last nite i had a shitfull game where i would go about 50 paces and one would just stop following. i spent the entire game chasing myself around trying to stay in follow formation.

Its strange that the only toons that break follow are on one box, though its never the same toon. (I run two boxes, with 3 accounts on one and two another box. Both machines are up there in specs.) also are any of you finding that a toon or two will simply disconnect? I was in a onyxa run last nite and one toon disconnected just before the boss went down and that caused that toon to miss the achievement…

I did notice that I could ride though shat during peak time and with red lat (hovering 600-1000) and they would not break follow unless I caught them on something. Side note, is anyone else finding that the boom mounts will catch almost anything that can cause your toons to stop?

When I used to run the 5 accounts on the one machine I had follow break occur every time I went too shat and to AV, but never as much as last nites AV. Is this due to server stability? I was thinking that I should consider equipping riding crops on the alts and see if this helps in anyway, but if its lag then that would not help

I usually forgot the bad av’s and move on but last nite I had my guild leader come along and I wanted to show him the fun that is boxing….all he saw was toons stoping for no reason and he got to hear me swear a bucket load on vent. (oh bty he is used to the swearing :D firday nite on vent is beer night…ok I lie everynite is beer nite on vent….)

I always get lag and /follow breaks in the same place in AV although I think thats fps lag rather than latency although servers are having problems recently/atm

Yea man, I usually ride for a fair bit then stop for a second to make sure no alts are falling too far behind. Also, on the straight stretches of road, I switch to one of the slaves so I can see if anyone is dropping off the pace at all. Ilike how on the slave's screen you are 5 yards away, yet on the leader everyone is like 30-40 yds behind, makes me facepalm quite often.

I believe we will always get some lag due to being Aussie, but I also feel it won't be this bad forever, should be getting better within the next couple of weeks.

As for the DCing, I also get this. Especially when there is a lot of activity. Like when Ally turtles and it's 35v35 at the base...it's just too many and 1 or 2 toons will cut out. Or when going for the Jenkins achievement and the druid you bring along ecides to grab 80-100 whelps for the lols and you all DC when you thunderstorm.

I'm not going to bother with the rising crop, i usally just ghost wolf around shit city and in Av it's alright to be near the back at the start, you can set up behind everyone then start nuking/pressing forwards.

Well for me its not just in AV, and I'm finding follow breaking much more often. The other thing I'm seeing is one toon lagging behind the rest and then getting caught on something when I change direction. Hopefully it's something they fix when they improve the overall stability of the the servers...

Cheers,

S.

Aussie playing on a US server??? Nooooo...lol, do you work nightshift or something?

How do you find it playing with your latency against people who have 43ms instead of 430ms?

i am seeing this as well, as V mention on one of the alts screen they are no more than 5 meters behind but on the main if you squint really hard you can make out your alts following in the distance.

the biggest downfall to this is that i have to wait 2 sec or so for the toons to catch up before i can start attacking, one way i get around this is to mash the cast button till i see them all attacking......we had guests over the other nite and one commented on my playing asking how many keyboards i go though....my reply was "not as many mice as i seem to go though" my mice tend to cop the most abuse when i get pissed off

Good point about the one laggin behind the others and the change of direction making that one catch on something, makes a lot of sense really.

Unfortunately for me its my face that suffers the most when I rage.

1. Place keyboard in front of face
2. Bash face on keyboard repeatedly

To be honest i would rather have an angry red belly dropped on my head then try to compete in arena with the lat we have. Most times my lat will sit in the red when i am in a bg or arena.....so i am going to blame lag for my failings and not my ability to play well......might explain my pitiful 1300 rating atm....yeah that’s it....its the lat.....

Its funny as vegemite on a tim tam when casting at a target who you know is in range only to see them “teleport” out of range to due placement lag….

Ok I am going to stop going on about the lat…I promise…..

Bty got a quick joke for you.

An aussie and kiwi are walking down a track when the kiwi see’s a sheep with its head stuck in a fence. The kiwi turns to the aussie and ask’s if he minds if he has a go. Aussie tells the kiwi to go ahead and enjoy himself, Kiwi quickly finish’s up and turns to the aussie and says, Ok mate your turn…..so the aussie sticks his head into the fence….

Told to me by a kiwi, funny stuff I thought :D
