I've only been at this for 20 days, but with RAF I'm already lvl 62 (pally/4x shaman). I think I havethe basic macros set up now and PvE is going well. In PvP I usually blow everyone up but that's to be expected with 4 elemental shamans.
However, I am having a real hard time with rogues who appear out of nowhere, sap my paladin and proceed to destroy my shamans one by one from behind, or by melee characters who are smart enough to approach from behind and stay there. When I try to run and face these with my paladin to turn the shamans around, they just run through me and keep hitting from behind. Keyboard turning the shaman slaves is too slow and while thunderstorm/nova totems help, they aren't enough for strong level 70 melee DPS.
How do you deal with rogues sapping your main and destroying your group, and with melee that just stays behind you so you can't cast? Thanks.

I don't really have a "main". Instead I have 5 guys I can switch back and forth with.
If melee are getting close then drop 5 magma totems and earthbind, then frost shock and run. Thunderstorm is your friend but you are also going up a geared 70 which means they probably have a crap ton of res and you are not going to get anywhere with them.
Oh yea lightning shield is nice as well.

Look up the FTL setup. It lets you change which character you are controlling everyone else with.
Entoptic said it right. As soon as pally gets sapped drop your magma and earthbind as you change which computer/account you are controlling with. If he is already on you then thunderstorm and LB/CL/ES him. If he is 70 then start running and dropping your earthbinds as you go.
Most of the time after I thunderstorm them they don't come back for more when they see sap'ing the pally didn't make me an easy target. Sometimes they go get a few friends and when the griefing starts I just log my second team and level for awhile.

Melee: Fire novas, keyboard turning on slaves only
Rogues: Poison cleanse totem, heal yourself until CoS is out, then thunderstorm
Sap:Say in ghost wolf

Hug the enemy with your paladin, cast LB on your shamans which should turn around and face the enemy if you're doing good with your paladin. those 3 or 4 CL's will land very often if you get the hang of it.

Well I still can't figure this out and it is really annoying me. 1 good rogue, paladin or warrior will just f'ing destroy my group. ONE guy. I can throw down nova totems, earthbind, cycle thunderstorms, whatever, but there is just nothing I can do against one guy who stays behind or in the middle of me. One 70 killing 5 70s. Do I just suck horribly?

I've been having similar issues, mainly with the warrior though. That crazy whirlwind or whatever which appears to be immune to thunderstorm totally owns me, I can't even run away most of the time.

He charged me, did that whirlwind and took all my toons to below half. I managed to get a chain heal off and 5x frost shocked him and 5 fire novas. He got 2 of my toons, and decided to high-tail it out of there. I self rezzed those two, and caught him eating behind a tree. Killed him. A few minutes later, he catches me again and whirlwinds and kills all of my toons. This happened about three times before I logged to my other team. All in all, I killed him 3 times, he killed all 5 of my toons twice, and killed two or three another time. That whirlwind is some pretty mean AoE.

I don't get it... how is one guy "staying in the middle of you" when you use earthbind + thunderstorm? If you drop earthbind then use thunderstorm, it will take him quite a while to get back to you, enough time to let loose a LB + CL + 5x ES combo which will pretty much slaughter anyone instantly. Even if not, one more thunderstorm will give you enough time to do ANOTHER LB+CL+5xES combo...
It sounds like you're not actually using thunderstorm at all.
Not only that but if I'm feeling really frisky I just use 5x ele mastery + 5x thunderstorm to instagib anyone with < 14k HP (though this is at level 70, at 62 you shouldn't waste 5 at once and save them for the knockbacks).

thunderstorm won't throw a warrior who's doing the whirlwind thing. They can't be snared feared cc'ed or knockbacked while doing that.

Thats true but he was focusing his comments mostly on rogues. He didn't ask "how do you deal with a warrior that is whirlwinding your team"...

Yeah, whirlwind is just insane. It drops my guys in seconds. Talk about OP.

It sure is. Its fun watching my mages drop like flies. And don't give me any of this "squishy" nonsense. Yes they may be squishy but they have 10k hp and 250ish res, they shouldn't die in less than 5 seconds and No I'm actually not exaggerating.

The best way I have found to deal with whirlwind is to set up 2 keybindings. First will have two of your guys straf left and 2 strafe right and main foward. The second will have the 2 that went right turn left and opposite for the other 2. Doing this will split up your team and turn them towards each other. You will probably have 2 end up dead but you will be in a good possition to kill the warrior and it's better than your whole team dead. Whirlwind is only 8 yards so you dont have to straf far.

Thanks

If I see a warrior about to charge me, I go for broke, drop 4 nova totems (5 seconds now so will prob go off just after he reaches me), LB then CL then Shock. His charge will only interupt 1 guy while the other 3 unleash. I DO NOT bother to try to heal through it anymore, just dps the fucker down asap so the pain stops, heal afterwards lol. These days I tend to drop them after 2 spins.
Another method is to thunderstorm during that small window between charge and bladestorm. This will punt him away, land spinning and have no fast way to close the gap while you nuke him.
OR you could go completely defensive and just /target self /cast lesser healing wave, and just spam that til it stops. then punt, nova and heal again (he will intercept back in to get stunned by novas, giving you 2 seconds to heal).
OR, when he starts spinning, press and hold a spread macro. So 2 guys go left, 2 go right (if ur a 5 boxer) while 1 guy goes forward. He will have to choose and will probably stick with the person he charged at the start (your lead). Everyone can then spam heals on the person he goes after then nuke when safe. Best start I have used imo has been t just spread out so he only hurts one person. Same as when a pally bubbles, spread and heal whoever he goes after, don't let them aoe you.
