Just a hello and a thank you

Good morning multiboxers.

Since the WoW servers are down and im just sitting here browsing this awesome forum I thought I'd make an account and take a moment to thank you guys.

I just started with dual boxing with the RAF thing, I am running 2 paladins and if all goes well I hope to expand my group to 5 (we'll see). Without the great information and experimentation packed into the these threads I never would've figured anything out.

I am using keyclone and jamba, so a big thanks to Rob and Jafula.

Anyways, I've rambled enough. Thanks for all the help, you guys rock.

I tried to level a pally and it was SOOOO excrutiatingly slow that I gave up and decided to just grant him to 60 lol.

Hopefully with the new patch you will have better luck than I did. :)

Well Im only level 12 so far and using RAF exp bonus so eveything seems a blur to me.. im sure it will slow down later =)


As for leveling slowness, I dont have much of a metric... my only character to date has been a tauren druid (been playing him since release).. if you want to talk about slow leveling, hahaha... But druids are doing much better these days.

Anyways, we'll see how it goes.

Yay, same situation here! I just tried AutoHotkey with 2 mages just to see how it works, now I will level two paladins. I am reading a lot about macros and spell rotations to improve my levelling experience, soon I will let you know about my progression, and I hope I can contribute with some content as well!

I woudn't be even starting with this without the help of this community, so thank you very much for this great work!

As for leveling experience, single box and dual box are totally different. Holy Priest by himself: good luck leveling with that. But once you're paired with mage, you can level ultra fast through AOE grinding.

I've been leveling pally + priest and so far it's great. I can pull 5-6 mobs same level, and I simply can't die. Although the damage is a bit low, so leveling is a bit slow. Going to try mage + priest next.

Almost to 15 now... i caught a post on another of the sections here about the pumpkins at all the inns so I am going to try to level through the lowbie area and then do a tour of the world to go find all the pumpkins I can and pick up the flight paths.

Leveling so far is very smooth, no stopping or anything. Run up to a mob and the double judgement will take 80% of most mobs life. Havent figured out how I want to do the bindings for healing, etc.

For all you pally players out there... do judgements stack? they seem to be but iam not sure if its just a GUI error after the patch or something like that.. if they do that seems like it could be quite powerful wtih multiple paladins, end game.

Good morning all,

Up to 18 now after some play last night.. still just running up to mobs and mostly killing them with double judgements. Everything is very smooth so far. I notice that 99% of you guys are running basically caster setups... or maybe 1 tank + casters. When do you start running into issues with positioning for melee? Ive not had any problems so far, but these guys are still lowbies of course.

After pulling my hair out for a couple hours trying to figure out a macro to buff all my party members with 1 keybinding (I suck at macroing) I caved in and downloaded the Autobuff addon... man that thing is awesome. I try to run with as few mods as possible but some of them are just too great to pass up on.

Welcome Redbeard! You will have fun with your pallies :) I ran a group of 4 of them and it was actually pretty fast and super easy. the kill speed against regular mobs was slower than regular ranged dps teams, but once you get to undead or demon zones like the plaguelands or felwood, you'll just cackle insanely to yourself as you burn down a dozen mobs at a time with little risk. (plate + shield + bubble + loh + horses basically means you can pull a bunch of mobs together safely, then consecration x 4 is surprisingly effective against even regular mobs, and if holy wrath affects them, the mobs pretty much melt)

i got them to 60 then stopped leveling them to wait for 3.0.2, so not sure how it is now. but pre patch i'd have each pally with a different blessing mapped to one key. nothing like running by someone then hitting one key to nail them with 4 blessings to build good will. got lots of positive comments on whisperwind and people following me around with kind tells from doing that. also against boss type mobs, toss on 4 different seals (i used light, wisdom, crusader, and justice) then judge boss, now all 4 toss on seal of righteousness, and each swing is giving them the chance to get back mana + hp, also it does 10% holy dmg, and prevents mobs from running.

talent wise, i also specc'ed em all different sort of. 1 prot, 1 holy, 2 ret. and picked all the improved aura talents, so have 4 auras up with the improved talent version up. with the new imp. aura talents, that will only get better.

overall, leveling was fast and a breeze (much better then when i leveled a solo pally up to 60 pre-tbc) and the only real problem was getting mobs in range of all 4 pallies' melee. but again, vs demons and undeads, they dont last past the initial barrage of 4x insta cast judged seal of righteousness + 4 exorcism. if they do, they're usually ready for 4x hammer of righteousness and that's the end of that.

Hey Echo, thanks for the welcome.

What you laid out is what I intend on doing if I am able to get 5 boxing going (we'll see what the wife says =) ) .. but with 3 pallies. Currently, with my 2 accounts I have one speccing into improved devotion and BOK and one speccing into improved BOM and (when i get there) improved ret aura. If I can get the 3rd he will give the 3rd aura and an improved blessing of wisdom.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that judgements of the same type from different pallies stack (i hope hope hope this isnt a bug, because if nots its awesome) so if it is indeed not a bug then I will like throw down 2 light and 1 wisdom, or switch them around as the fight dictates.

Just dinged level 30 on my boys...

Had some help in SM to boost to 30 so at this point I cant really say how well theyre doing against same level content. I can say that now that ive got 90% of the things figured out with boxing I think im hooked though. I think the devil is probably in the details and that last 10% is the difference between an OK boxer and a great one... give me time =P
