Interesting concept for game controller

I really need to hook my my DDR pad to my computer, and keybind some of my abilities to it..

Next (because, yes, I actually know what one is, and sadly, DDR - though I've never played it) is WHY do you even have one?

Why do I have one? I LOVED THIS GAME.. Haha, one of my early high school gf's got into it :O It actually was really good for foot movement in basketball too so bonus.

It would also put a whole new spin on the "I'm so happy when I play my shamans, that I dance"

I've been using this foot switch, though I'm still trying to figure out the best way to set it up - originally I was using it to strafe with my alts but a thunderstorm stomp button works too :)

I've got the ME50 which, sadly doesn't have any sort of USB, but it does have some fantastic tones and effects.

This would be pretty baller imo, my only request is that after you rig it up you make a pvp video and during every thunderstorm you break into a splitscreen to display RL footage of DDR pad stomping

GREAT idea, seems like it would be a lot of fun to mess around with.. however, i think that the ddr pads (if i remember correctly, it's been awhile) are a bit large to be using the entire thing comfortably without standing on it. using 3-6 of the buttons should be easy enough though. and the DOUBLE STOMP idea just rox my sox!

im assuming you're talking about the PS2 dance pad, since most DDRs came out for PS2, oh and i think there are a few PSone games for it too. i have my dance pads in storage and never bothered to play it agian. haha. what an idea. get yourself a PS-controller to USB adapter, the Joy-2-key, or Joy-to-key software i think it is, and you're well on your way!

Yeah, not the rubber flimsly ones, but I actually have a metal dance pad :thumbup:

I'll play around with it and see if it's camera material.

If it's a ps2 ddr pad, then a converter(joybox, pelican, etc.) + joy2key would work. I've done it with a basic ps2 controller, and as long as the converter is compatible with the ddr pad it will work exactly the same. Just be mindful that some converters lag with some controllers. Also some converters don't work with ps1 controllers(and thus any controller that uses a ps1 pcb), and some get funky if the analog isn't set right. Pelicans, for example, always set analog to on. Not a problem for most controllers, but if yours requires the analog to be off to function properly then it won't.
