Relics replace totems...

I must have missed this in the notes but my son noticed that his relic said it counts as each of the totems we've been carrying in our bags. His is a pvp relic and mine was Totem of the Void. I popped my totems into the bank and sure enough it still worked fine dropping totems. Does anyone know if we can delete the physical totems?

So being a new SHAman, does this mean there is no need to keep the totems in your bag?

So they do, i had wondered about if it was as the items says.
I recall seeing someone ask about it in trade, suggested that they try it and didn't get a reply

nah your gonna still need all your totems if your a new shaman, the ones that replace the totems are all lvl 70 items, 3 are PVP and one is dungeon loot if i can recall correctly

at last they made thisNo they are all relics, Druids have idols, Shaman have totems and Paladins have librams and they all go into the relic slot.

Shamans are no longer required to carry the 4 totems around as long as you have a totem equipped in the relic slot. Unfortunately, the game does not allow you to destroy the totems. Hopefully blizz fixes this at some point. For now a trade off of 4 bank slots for bag slots is still better than nothing.

The earliest totem that I know of comes out of Scholo if I remember correctly, may be BRD.

Why delete them ? After the trouble you went trough to get them, I'd keep them. I know my shamans will. Plenty of space in the banks ;)

I found out after getting items replaced from getting keylogged :S
I was like "Shit, I didn't get my tot--.. Wait why can I still use my totem farm macro? :S"

If you're at or close to 60, there's the quest at the cenerion hold outpost that give a totem, libram, idol and some other things. Might be worth looking into. (I think it's collassal menace or along that chain line)
