Since the new update macros are stored server side. Well I had adjusted all my macros and updated them for all my toons recently on my main pc. Yesterday I logged in 1 character with my laptop which had old out of date macros. Bliz ended up overwriting my currently stored server side macros with my laptops old ones. Now when I log in with my main home pc it still has all the old macros from my laptop there.

Be warned about logging in. You may delete all your macros!

I guess I'm confused on how to get your macros stored server-side. I modified several macro files in my WTF folder yesterday and all the new stuff I added showed up in-game the next time I logged in.

I believe by server side they mean you have an order of preference.
First, look for macro's in local cache.
(if found, load macro's to client, update to server)
If none (Load macro's from server, update local cache)

If you run into this problem I just found out how to fix it. It will save your previous macros as .old. So you need to change bindings-cache.old to .wtf, config-cache.old to .wtf, and macros-cache.old to .txt. Pray your .olds are not saved with the new macros from your old pc.

Once I did this it returned all my setings and keybinds to the correct setting. That really scared the hell out of me. Not only were my macros old but my keybindings were all changed. I dont play from my laptop much.. Just log in and check mail or something.

I believe there is a new script command '/script RestoreMacrosFromFile()" or something like that. Would the command fix this problem?

I've run into this problem as well, because my setup has a "Master" application and "Slave" application, just so if I want to solo a slave character I can log into him from the master app.

Anyways, to prevent this from reoccurring, you type into the chat console:

/console synchronizeSettings 0
