Hello,

I am doing the typical full window on monitor A and 1/4 windows on monitor B. However, when I swap in PVP I get about a 2 second delay which is too long. If the aspect ratio's don't line up then it is closer to 5 seconds. I did notice that if I made all the displays the same exact size then the swap is instantanious. Instant PIPing is awesome and something I really want. However, the problem is I can't see all my slaves without bringing them to the foreground..

So, for you PVPers who use PIP, how do you do it? What have you found that works the best?

Thanks!

I think if there is resizing involved it is a matter of how fast the WoW client can react. But I'm not sure what can be done to help that beyond faster CPU/GPU and maybe fewer addons, lower detail settings.

I use two 1680x1050 monitors. I've got 2 1680x525 regions on the first monitor, and 3 1680x525 regions on the second monitor. The 3 on the second monitor overlap. This allows me to easily see if I've lost followers.

I would love to be able to have one monitor devoted to the leader and the other to the followers, but the PIP switch delay caused me too much grief, and this compromise works ok.

the delay in pip swap is related to wow. as it resizes to the new dimensions, i believe it is re-rending some surfaces.

to improve your performance, definitely reduce your details and make sure the game resolution, found just under the PiP hotkey field on the maximizer panel, is the same for all regions. also, make sure the regions are all a scaled ratio from the main region.

personally, i set the game resolution for all regions to the region dimensions of my main region. on my quad core (8gb memory and an nvidia 260 on vista64), my pip swap takes about 500ms ... but my details are usually at medium and my fps are set to 30/45

i hope that helps,

Rob
