I'm going to start a Death Knight as my main and give him an army of undead followers using multiboxing (RP server).
1. Assuming the followers are about lvl 55 will they be able to get into the Death Knight starting area and assist with the Death Knight's quests?
2. Will the followers need the WotLK expansion straightaway or can I wait until they all hit 70?
3. If the followers have to wait for the Death Knight to solo the starting area (for whatever reason) what level will the Death Knight be when he's done? And which area should they wait in for the appearance of their dark master?

1. No your followers will not be able to get into the DK starting zone. It is an instanced EPL until they finish the starting quests.
2. No they will not the expansion right away. They will only need this if you plan to take them to Northrend.
3. Your DK will come out of the starting zone at level 58.

Well... one thing I have wondered is: If your RAF doesnt end before WOTLK(mine does) it may (I havent tested this) be possible for your DK to summon them via the RAF summon(make sure he is the first linked account so you can get everyone in). However I think this would be a bad idea as I'm sure the NPCs the DK is working with will kill you. They are bad guys after all.

They are bad guys after all.I do not believe this is possible because of a new game feature in WoTLK called Phasing. This is a technology which will change the environment, npcs, etc. based on the character's progression. The entire DK starting area is a phased instance based on the DK's progression, so even if you could summon with RAF, they probably wouldn't be in the same phase as you.
The entire DK starting area is a phased instance ...
This.
The DK starting quests aren't technically in Azeroth. It's an instance. So no you will not be able to summon anyone to the zone.

Could you summon the DK out. Use 5 lvls from raf to lvl him and then hearth back to the starting area?

Could you summon the DK out. Use 5 lvls from raf to lvl him and then hearth back to the starting area?Since prior versions of the game tell us they definitely know how to code a no-summon zone, I think the answer to this is "you can if Blizzard wants to let you."

if you go running over there with any other char, all you find is tyrs hand riddled with elites and the area where the DK quests are done is basically abandoned. if you try riding out of the area with the DK, you hit an invisible wall thats about 100yds or so outside of tyrs hand gate. Once your complete all the quests and are "reborn" and no longer under the control of arthas, youre free to go where you want and do what you want. you'll have one more phased instanced the first time you go back to ebon hold (event and small chain sending you to your race leader for "redepmtion"), and after that its business as normal.
You'd want to do it to grant him 5 RAF levels, and hearth back in, completing the DK sequence (even) easier, and perhaps ending at level 61-62, instead of 58 hmmm...i think itd be unnecessary. maybe when youre past the initial string of events and quests and start questin in outlands or something. i think the starting quests for the DK are simple enough as they are and if they were any easier it would lose some of its fun factor. *shrug* just my .02

why would you want to summon the DK out in ther first place? the quests are stupid easy, not mention enjoyable cause of the new things theyve added in. plus youll be at a disadvantage if you take him out and start runnin around elsewhere cause you wont have any talent points.

But of course this all comes down to whether it's possible (I imagine no, but am keeping 2 x 5 RAF levels spare just in case myself - can always use the levels later).

The DK starting area is open now, you can ride through Tyr's hand into the area. But, because of the new phased technology your DK will see it differently then another character would. I did not try to ride into the area as a non DK or out as a DK so I am not really sure how it would work. I know in the quest chain, when you go out you are at LHC, but that is phased as well. I think it is normal after it ends, with no zoning needed. I also know that in the phasing you see can other players on different phases, sometime even NPC spell affects (though that might have been a bug). Just try when it comes out and see if it works you get a little jump. If not, no big deal.

Well, right in the RAF section on Blizzard's site, it says you can use your RAF levels to boost a Death Knight.
I'm not sure if it would be as simple as inviting them to your group, and then boosting via r-clicking on their portrait, or if you'd have to physically be near the toon.
Will death knights be able to take advantage of the bonus levels?
Yes,death knights will be able to receive bonus levels, too. But keep in mind that death knights start at level 55 and players stop receiving bonus experience at level 60. Also, I'm not sure if you could boost a DK from 55 to 60, or if you'd have to wait until the DK is 57 or 58 and receives only 2 or 3 levels of boosting.
