I have a very big problem and cannot find a solution for it.

I have 2 PCs and on each of them 3 wows (all are copies of the first and only installation)
everything worked wonderfull, but since the new patch was installed, I cannot install the patch on more than 1 WOW per Pc .. he tolds me that there is no need to patch, the 3.0.2 is the newest ...
even if I start the updater.exe files (and yes, they are in different folders ....)

anyone a solution for the problem?

annoying to play only with 1 char per pc *g

I'd flame you for not running a basic search but I'd just ruin my good mood. Enjoy my meager but undeserved assistance:

thanks for not flaming me, and thanks for the links, but not one of them helped ... i tryed also to copy the patched wow and rename it to wow2, but then when I try to start wow2 he tells me that wow.exe has wrong signature Oo
whatever that means ... never had problems with patches and multiple wow folders on a single pc ...

edit: wait, sorry the link with beyond-tec 's post seems to help ... thx man

This is what I did..

Patched 1st WoW folder
Deleted the updates in the folder
Copied the folder 4 times to other drives
Remake shortcuts
Redid keyclone pointer

No sense in actually patching 5 WoW folders.. that takes forever.

well ... till patch 3.0.2 it was absolutely NO problem to patch 1 wow and copy the data over to all other wow folders ...

NOW with 3.0.2 every time I tryed, I got error message (when starting the new copied wow) that the signature of wow.exe is not valid or something like this ...
don't think I*m so dumb and have not tryed anything I thought wold help ...

even searched google for 2 hours, without any results ....

don't be so fast with judging people, I really tryed to fix it, and searched alot beforehand

I hope beyond-tec 's post hepls now ... looks good so far ... he's patching ;) hope it will also start

edit: @not5150: hm, didn't work for me :( or maybe because I didn't delete the Update folder? could that be? Oo

Yeah, just kill that update folder after you successfully patch the first WoW folder.

I'm guessing that WoW.exe calls up something in the update folder and then chokes because the patch is tied to a specific folder. Just a guess though.

Plus you want to kill that update folder anyways because it's about 1.2+ GB and adds to the bloat.

I run four separate WoW installations on one of my computers. I patched one copy (copied the patch files from my fifth installation on my main computer to the slave computer)and had to copy the patched copy to completely new directories for it to work for me (i.e., copying over my unpatched directories failed). Dunno why it didn't work just copying over my current installations, but I got it working so I never bothered to think much about it.
