So a general trash pull (ie not alot of aoe mobs)

fire : 1 totem of wrath 4 searing totems

water : 5 healing stream totems (I recently stopped laying 1 mana sping b/c I think life regen while gettiing hit is better than mana)

earth: 1 stoneskin 1 earthbind 3 stoneclaw (If you have a chance of getting feared stagger your tremor totems)

air: 1 wrath of air 4 grounding

That is what I have been doing. Haven't really messed around with it too much. What are you dropping?

well i had been using something like this
castsequence reset=6 Wrath of Air Totem, Mana Spring Totem, Totem of Wrath, Stoneskin Totem
castsequence reset=6 Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Totem of Wrath, Tremor Totem
castsequence reset=6 Windfury Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Totem of Wrath, Tremor Totem
castsequence reset=6 Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Totem of Wrath, Tremor Totem
castsequence reset=6 Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Totem of Wrath, Tremor Totem

but now as i read all around healing stream dont stack but the mana spring totem is now stacking the totem of wrath is not stacking so its pointless to have it on 4 times;-(
so i dont know what would be the best setup after the patche any advice from experience after the patche 3.0?

Healing stream seems to stack. I see it in the floating combat text all the time.

One thing that helped me was having a seperate button setup for grounding totems. So after casters shoot 4 things at you it is easy to refresh them.

For PVE I would think you want Stoneclaw totems over Tremor totems most of the time. Stoneclaw will stun the mobs so they are beating on you. Also the way that tremor totem works is it sends out pluses that break fear effects. SO you want to stagger laying your tremor totems. So you have multiple pluses going out at multiple times (vs laying them all at once and having 1 pluse go out at the same time)

Toon1: castsequence reset=6 Wrath of Air Totem, Mana Spring Totem, Totem of Wrath, Stoneskin Totem
Toon2: castsequence reset=6 Tremor Totem,Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem
Toon3: castsequence reset=6 Windfury Totem,Tremor Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem
Toon4: castsequence reset=6 Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Tremor Totem,Searing Totem
Toon5: castsequence reset=6 Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem, Tremor Totem

What schwarz said.

Personally I think a good way to handle totems is to just think of the net results you want, and then layout your macros/keybindings in a text file. Then after you have your net results determined for your team, you can layout each characters macros. Makes it alot easier to update and keeps you sane, imo. What i did was:

1 generic pvp totem sequence including a tremor stagger like schwarz posted, then I have 4 keys, each with 2-3 modifiers non-sequenced totem drops. So a key for 5x grounding, 5x mana spring, 5x healing stream, 5x poision cleansing, 4x nova +1 tow, 4x searing +1 tow, etc. Allows for alot of flexibility

This is the PVE section but I have a tip for pvp. The single thing that will almost always kill me is getting feared too far from each other. So it is very important that I get down tremor totems when there is any warlock/warrior/priest anywhere near me. I have the following macro on each toon

toon1: castsequence tremor totem,,,,,
toon2: castsequence ,tremor totem,,,
toon3: castsequence ,,tremor totem,,
toon4: castsequence ,,,tremor totem,
toon5: castsequence ,,,,,tremor totem

I have this mapped to "8" key. If you are using keyclone there is a section in setup called mouse map (i think i am at work right now). Here you can set up a mouse button to send a keystroke. So I have one of my mouse side buttons setup to send an 8 everytime i click it. So if I am in a potential pvp situation I can click the side mouse button 5 times and have staggered tremor totems. I found this has really made it easier to deal with ally.

I have my left hand on the wasd running the toons around if i see something that might fear me I click the side mouse button quickly and get those totems down. A couple times it has saved me b/c I have gotten 2 or 3 down right as the ally is casting or about to cast a fear on me.

I am only getting a single tick from 4 healing totems. I am however getting multiple ticks from mana spring totems which is supposed to stack now.
Just my experience. I am trying to figure out all this new crap as well :)

just to chip in my 2c
here is my PVE and PVP castsequence macro's (have it bound to F-key for pvp, and Shift-F for pve)
besides that i have Shift2 for earthtotems (1earth,1tremor,3stoneclaw), Shift3 for fire (1 tow, 4 searing), shift 4 for 4xhealing/1mana, shift5 for 5x grounding
above that i have alt3 for 5x firenova, and alt4 for magma, to easily drop those

PVP:

1: /castsequence reset=15 Totem of Wrath, Grounding Totem, Earthbind Totem, Healing Stream Totem
2: /castsequence reset=15 Tremor Totem, Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem , Searing Totem
3: /castsequence reset=15 Grounding Totem, Tremor Totem, Healing Stream Totem , Searing Totem
4: /castsequence reset=15 Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Tremor Totem, Searing Totem
5: /castsequence reset=15 Grounding Totem, Mana Spring Totem, Stoneclaw Totem, Searing Totem

as you see i frop 3 staggered tremor totems, 1 earthbind, 1 stoneclaw (the 1x stoneclaw to keep of hunterpets (taunt works on pets) or keep of pve mobs in AV)
also 1st press is 3 grounding, and 2 more on the next, i skip wrath of air, since most fights are over quick anyway, have more use for an extra grounding

PVE:

1: /castsequence reset=15 Totem of Wrath, Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Stoneclaw Totem
2: /castsequence reset=15 Grounding Totem, Stoneclaw Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem
3: /castsequence reset=15 Tremor Totem, Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem
4: /castsequence reset=15 Grounding Totem, Tremor Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem
5: /castsequence reset=15 Earthbind Totem, Wrath of Air Totem, Mana Spring Totem, Searing Totem

for pve i use 2 staggered tremor (enough, most pve encounters dont even have fear) 1 earthbind, and 2 stoneclaw (remember i got Shift3 for more earthclaws if needed)
i might add in other totems like poison cleansing and such in later
also added searing totems to the LAST drop.. incase the totem farm is to close.. so it does not agro on the first keypress

For my 4 shaman and 1 paladin I'm currently using:

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=15 grounding totem, tremor totem, searing totem, mana spring totem

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=15 grounding totem, searing totem, tremor totem, mana spring totem

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=15 grounding totem, totem of wrath, stoneskin totem, mana spring totem

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=15 wrath of air totem, flametongue totem, strength of earth totem, mana spring totem

And I'm using flametongue weapon on my Shaman for an extra dps boost. This is really untested. Norg went down shortly after I finished doing these and it looks like it's still down/down again this morning.

Whats the use of Windfury Totem? It says malee and ranged haste, does that include spellcasting or something?

Sarduci

Totem of wrath is the spell haste version of that.

Ya I know but I keep seeing people using windfury totem in their group's totem sequence macros....I just dont know what the benefit would be.

and aparantly windfury helps with paladin's.. especially tanking bosses instead of big groups

In 3.x, Flametongue Totem and Totem of Wrath will not stack. The ToWrath is the superior effect and overwrites the Flametongue.

Healing Stream and Mana Spring totems do stack, so you could have all of one or the other, or any mixture of the two, to full effect.

Do not confuse Flametongue totem with the weapon enhancement spell. ToW and the spell do stack just for clarity.

The weapon enchant and the totem will stack, as you said.
I'm just pointing out, the totem and totem will not stack, and in the above castsequences they were both totems.
