The new Ads on the Site.

I don't want this to come across the wrong way and I understand the need to recoup costs from running this site, especially with the increasing traffic; but some, if not most of the new ads on the site are just bad... WoW Gold selling ads, Power Leveling ads, Arena Leveling Ads, just to name the few I have seen on the site so far.
These ads go entirely against what this community stands for from what I have experienced.
So, going with my idea with don't complain without offering a solution. Is there a way the community can come together and help pay the increased costs (if that is the case) by setting up the ability for us to Donate money, time, etc...???

I am more than willing to help.

#1 there is a post running to report bad ads to get them out of the rotation
#2 across the top nav bar is a link that says donate with a big smiley face

Yes this is just a temp solution :) also there is a thread dedicated to removing all the gold and irrelevant ads from the site.

as well we can always go the donate route exclusively, I just don't like asking for handouts ><

Actually I just checked out the donations piece and some members of the site have generously donated to the site. Really appreciate it :)

Well, I totally missed the Donation tab at the top and the Filtering out thread in the forum. Whew, that is kind of embarrassing and I am sorry.
I will take advantage of both and hope others do the same… hehe, all the ads I have down are already on the list…

I thought most ads were based on what you most often search for? (Ie, searching for world of warcraft will get you ANY type of wow ads, the most common being powerleveling and gold ads...) I might be wrong... Anyone know?

Thank you everyone sooo much, with all the donations that have flooded into today I'm almost half way done on paying off the new dedicated server for 3 months. Once we reach the goal the ads will be gone :)
I need to figure out how to make a little goal marker thing hehe.

So, are the ads a static revenue base, or should we click on everyone we see and let it open their website?

Paid per click. Ellay's not allowed to ask you to do so, so I will. Click away. I can only imagine the bandwidth costs after being on yahoo and digg this month.
