Heyo, I am trying to get rid of all the gold selling adverts from adsense, if you could just post in this thread the web address of any gold selling site you see from them, and I'll make sure to get it filtered out.

***The current list of sites has been removed, but added to the official block list. Thanks***

Actually place anything that doesn't relate to the site here, i.e boxing gloves :P

Are boxing ads relavant to this site? I mean boxing and dueling are kind of related, right?

Humana-Medicare.com
www.DrugRehabCenter.com

How do the ads work? Do you get paid for impressions or per click through?

I would honestly rather see drug rehab boxing gloves and medical stuff then gold selling/power leveling if it still makes the site money.

How many legit WoW/gaming/multiboxing ads could there be?

Do you set like keywords or something to find the ads or does google scan the site? Just curious how it works.

Edit: Oh, how hard do you want us to scan for repeats in the lists? would it be easier for you to pull it out?

Alright all listed above me have been filtered, takes 2-3 hours before applied.

It sounds like nothing fits as a good ad :) I should prob stick up a newegg one instead or something similar.

I know you are doing your best to keep the site ligit and clean but revenue is revenue, do people avoid allka cause IGN owns it? If people are going to buy gold (a practice I frown upon), they can do it from here or just go someplace else. Your long time readers are intelligent enough to understand that if you let the gold adds stay up that its just because we need money to keep the site up and running smoothly.

I say just contract with the add provider and let peoples good sense filter for them.

I say just contract with the add provider and let peoples good sense filter for them.Only problem with this is it compromises Multiboxing's legitimacy. A number of people already call us, incorrectly, gold farmers and account sellers. There was a bunch of that surrounding Prepared's recent publicity. Blizzard also frowns upon linking site's in their forums that have content or ads that are against their TOS.

That and it just looks bad.

Well of course these are ligitimate concerns, me I'd rather see the site up 100percent of the time with any kinds of adds, then down 10percent of the time and have no gold adds. But you raise valid points to be sure.

Comments on Prepards publicity were 90 percent negative on all fronts lol ... I wouldn't put any stock in any of those comments.

Besides the fact that we are TECHNICALLY giving them free advertizing right now... this is the blocklist I've been using on my site:

That being said, those goldsellers are prolific little bastages. New things will pop up eventually. It's inevitable.

BTW, as undefinedVyndree said, this thread has the potential of turning into the one stop spot to find gold sellers. Should really obfuscate the links when posting so they don't get yet another search engine hit.

I'm going to start editing out posts to avoid any scum getting free advertising...at this point all sites listed are added to the filter list, and your posts being edited and/or deleted can be taken as a further confirmation.

Can't you do a wildcard filter?

www.*gold*.*?

Can't you do a wildcard filter?

www.*gold*.*?We wish, unfortunately google is still working out how much control they want to give web admins in filtering content. Wildcards is not a feature yet, and they limit you to blocking 200 sites at any given time.

Not 100% sure on this site, but it seems to be selling a program that *cheats* wow, even though its rather retarted, its still something I wouldn't want to "promote".

I commend your efforts. However, it seems to me to be an onerous task to do. Personally, I don't care much about the ads (was going to stick the one that links the "Stats Editor" but it was just posted) because I know the position the site has on these issues and the funding is obviously important. However, I would recommend just putting a disclaimer near them stating that the MB community does not endorse gold selling, botting or any sort of activity against the EULA. MBers are already a targetting community and I send people to this site when they send me tells accusing me of botting or gold farming or whatever. Now, with these ads all over it certainly doesn't help us. IMO a disclaimer stating the position of the site and perhaps an explanation as to why they show up would help a lot and maybe save you some time.

Cheers.
