I might have missed it, but after a quick scan of this forum, I saw no mention of the incredible performance improvement with this patch. I'm running a team of five on one cpu (an E6600) and am seeing a five to ten fold increase in frame rates and a comparable drop in lag. It’s especially noticeable in Outlands. Also much faster load and log in times. Sound also seems better, but I may be imagining that part.

This patch is nigh miraculous.

Running level 70 Paladin, Priest, Druid, Mage and Warlock as an RP party on Moon Guard.

Same here! Standing in Shattrath used to be terrible, but now it's very smooth. I was sooooo happy when I realized that!

Usually these performance improvements get subsequently used up by the game development team's artists shoving some extra heavy content into the game.

I wish I could make a decent comment, I just hope you're right ;)
Shadowsong EU seemed to have trouble last night so I'm not sure if it was temporarily,
only got pitbull, jamba and wim installed atm (all new versions),
my ui froze every few minutes for about 3 seconds,
seems like a local problem, but who knows, tomorrow is my day off and my extra memory will arrive, so enough tim to screw around with it :D

Now that you mention it things did seem to run smoother than normal for having 1200ms latency and random disconnects....

Just about as smooth as a avalanche right after a hurricane...lol. My server didnt make a showing at all until around 1030 pm EST. Then it took 45 min to get passed the loading screen, only to log in for about 2 min and get a 'world server is down'. Fun times had for all. I think our whole server finally gave up around 2 am, because it suddenly became stable. I counted a total of 4 people in shat when i logged in...heh. Even now we are still plagued by random world crashes. Instances seem pretty stable though, so I have been running from instance to instance for achievements.

the shadows seem to make a huge effect on my machine. with shadows i'm laggy, without i'm smooth as butter.

how many addons did you have up and running? i haven't boxed since the patch, waiting for stability to settle down. I have logged a number of guys one at a time and performance was up but I had no addons running, since so many addon sites are slow/broken.

That may be part of the improvement, we will see once I get everything going.

The new shadows rock, I love it.

Log in quick, set abilites.... world server down..... log in again, setup abilites agin, world server down for another zone, people crowd the working areas and BANG! world server down......

Wash, rinse, repeat!

I'm gonna try again tonight to get all of my UI changes in place. Then it's off to Kara to practice new abilites and get my fiancee's moonkin buffs in the mix!
