View Full Version : How to handle T-Storm macro for 5 shammies?

Basically I want to be able to use one each time I press a button.
I have tried using the traditional /castsequence macro with a reset = 45 and then the comma method and although it works when I am not in combat the moment I enter combat and hit it once I cast every single one of them at once.
Any way around this or would I just have to assign different keys to each T-storm or maybe use keyclones round robin?

Personally I would use Keyclone's RoundRobin feature. I use it for my Earth Shock and Frost Shock's and it works great :) I haven't personally tested it out yet with T-Storm but I'm assuming it should work fine.
Hope that helps! :)

I find round robin to have too little precision. I am currently using 5 buttons for thunderstorm - one for each shaman's TS, and one to trigger all of them. Gives me more control.

I have a cast sequence with reset=45 to round robin the TS, and one TS-Nuke to burn all 5.

Ya know I was going to start up a thread about this also.
I tried the
/castsequence reset=45 thunderstorm,,,,
But I didn't like it that much. This Thunderstorm macro took place of my group earthshock. SO maybe I just need to get used to hitting another button for instant damage. But what I have been playing around with is keeping the first part of the macro then adding earth shocks at the end
so if we look at the 5th person in the sequence i have something like
/castsequence reset=45 ,,,,thunderstorm,earth shock,earth shock,earth shock
The only problem I can see with this is up until I hit the button 5 times I won't be getting 5 earthshocks. I think mostly I just need to relearn how to play with this new spell.
How sweet is it bouncing melee away from you. I have so much fun doing this that often I forget to refresh my grounding totems

I have thunderstorm on the castsequence like others have mentioned, just moving the comma one spot for each toon ( ,thunderstorm,,,, etc) and it works great for me, every 45 seconds I have 5 'o shi_' buttons. Some have mentioned mixing that in with earth shock, etc on the sequence but I have all my shocks on different hotkeys (I normally only use 5 frost shocks to slow someone, followed by 5 lightnings, dead).

/castsequence reset=45 thunderstorm,,,,
This is what I use moving the comma around and like I said when I am doing PVE works great, but in the heat of pvp battle all 5 seem to burn. Maybe I am spamming the button and don't realize it, but they all seem to go off with one push.

With four shammies, mine look something like this:
T - X - F - X
F - X - T - X
X - T - X - F
X - F - X - T
T = Thunderstorm
F = Frost Shock
X = no-cast " , "
Shammies 1-2 cast first. Shammies 3-4 cast second. Shammies 1-2 cast third. Shammiess 3-4 cast fourth.
This will allow faster back-to-back casts of Thundershock, without having to wait for the GCD.

I haven't been playing lately but I had something like this set up on the beta awhile back, I want to add a simple way to have each shammy target a different opponent. Also thinking something like that would be nice for the hex spell as well. aoe knockback - slow - poly seems useful

With the help of the Warcraft UI Forum, I found this macro:
/tar [target=focus, nodead] focus
/stopmacro [target=focus, exists, nodead]
/assist MasterToon
/focus
Having this on the slaves.
If they already have a focus, it will target the focus
If they do not have a focus, the Master's target becomes their focus.
You could have this focus macro on each of your slaves, in a slightly different position.
For example, Numpad 1 (Slave 1), Numpad 2 (Slave 2), and Numpad 3 (Slave 3).
So mouse-over a toon and press Numpad 1, a different toon and press Numpad 2.
Then have a Hex macro on say Numpad 4, 5, 6. As in immediately above the focus macro. This could be sheep, banish, fear etc.
So once the focus is set for a slave, that slave can easily find the focus target on a keypress (Numpad 1 for example) and easily cast a cc or interrupt (Numpad 4 for example).
I'm not sure how practical this would be in arena...
Have Numpad 1 make Toon 1 and 2 set the target as focus.
Have Numpad 4 be a cast sequence for Pass/Hex and Hex/Pass.
Similarly Numpad 2 can be focus for Toon's 3 and 4.
Then you could simultaenously Hex two of their healers as you burn someone.
If they trinket out of it, you can immediately re-Hex them.
Even if the Hex is not a CC, it can be an interrupt or a Wind/Earth Shock.
