Quick question - the patch files are just MPQ's - I've got a bunch of installations I need to update.

For those of you that have patched already, does the launcher/downloader handle the patching itself? Can I just copy all the files into the Updates directory in my wow directory and it'll take care of itself?

Thanks in advance!

This would be a good time to learn how to symlink your data/cache directories to a single installation as I think this means when you update that first installation all the rest that link to that data directory are updated as well automatically :)

yup, I have 10 wow directories, all of them symlinked, and I just had to update the client once today morning and resymlink new files (just two new files in the main directory, battle.net.dll and msvcr80.dll) and all my clients were updated. took under 10 minutes.

But yes you can copy over the updates folder, and when wow launches it will download the patcher (you can copy that too) and it'll auto update. Kind of a long time if you are doing 4-5 wow installs though, should seriously consider learning how to junction/symlink.

I'm also curious about this, I don't really feel like symlinking atm, and I have five seperate installs to patch. How can I manually apply the patch if it is downlaoded on one install?

never mind answered above, thanks.
