So with todays patch I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good addons.
I have downloaded the addons posted here ('http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/10/14/essentail-add-ons-for-patch-3-0-2/').
Can someone post what they think might be the best action bar addon?
I have always used Titan panel and was thinking of switching to Fubar, any opinions?
I am looking for a replacement for Cartographer but can't find one yet.
edit: What about the Multiboxer addon will it still work in 3.02?

hehe there is no replacement for cartagrapher imo.
The bar mod trinity has now become macaroon. it is awesome, the developer Maul said that one reason he wrote trinity/macaroon is because he was getting into multiboxing and it shows in his work. Macarron was not what I thought it was going to be when he announced it awhile ago. He made it sound like it would be a trinity lite, but it is really just the old trinity recoded in many cases from the ground up to be superior, it will have everything the original trinity 2.0 had. Also now the gui interface is about 100% better, the only real complaint I had from the first one.
I could go on but really it is amazing. I consider it to be the spiritual successor to the old flexbar.

does macaroon work with the new patch yesterday? I read it would only work with wotlk next month?

sadly, cart doesn't work with 3.0.2, and imo cart3 sucks. I'm running without a map mod, but I may install tomtom for the waypoints
Macaroon works with 3.0.2.
I'm running dominos right now

I can't really think if any reason why a mod would work in WOTLK and not 3.0, they are identical as far as mods are concerned. There are tons and tons and tons of mods that haven't been updated for 3.0 yet, but I can confirm Pitbull, Bartender4, Chatter, Auctioneer, Chinchilla are all working for me. I dumped Cartographer and instead have Mapster, Gathermate, TomTom, Lightheaded - although tbh they are not as nice as Cart :(
Haven't found a good buff mod yet, ElkBuffBar seems a bit messed up and I don't like Buffalo at all.

I've never "gotten it" what's so wunnerful about cartographer myself, care to make me a believer, or at least an understander? Main annoyance is I ended up with two copies of the toon and cursor's coordinates stacked on top of each other due to addon clashes.

and it looks like its multi-box friendly. =]

I'll check out Macaroon tonight, I installed Bartenter4 last night and it was pretty easy to setup.
I use SmartBuff to run my buffs otherwise I would never remember to buff.
Has anyone used Carbonite? I think it is a paid mod but it is supposed to do the map better than Cartographer.

I messed around with Macaroon last night -- so far I really like it. It has the easiest/slickest setup of any bar mod I've used so far.
It has the same feature as trinity where you can setup buttons to automatically target yourself/targettarget/focus/etc. No option for Focustarget though, but it looks like I was successful in editing the .lua and adding that in (same as in trinity). I think this is going to be my bar mod for 3.x
I just recently replaced Quest Helper with Carbonite, and I now consider it a 'Must Have' addon. Several people over at Magtheridon have been using it and recommended it. I was reluctant to try it at first, but now I'm a believer. Carbonite shows more detail, adds a new mini-map that adjusts to your position on the map for quest tracking, high-lights zones of the map that contain mobs related to your quests, takes up much less memory than QH, and is over-all much more stable.

I tried Macaroon but couldn't even figure out how to get the bars to show. I admit I didn't try too hard since I already had Bartender4 working, with Bartender4 I just had to enable the bars and all my spells and abilities were still setup from my old Bongos mod.
I bought Carbonite but after about an hour trying to configure it I gave up, I'll have to try again tonight. The main problem I had was the small Carbonite map was sitting on the minimap and I couldn't seperate the maps, also I somehow lost the Carboite buttons on the right side of the screen now.
I have my interface almost back to normal now and I'm using a lot less addons. Just need Mobinfo, some totem addon, and a crafting addon to organize my recipes.

In the main menu there is an option to turn off the Blizzard bars. To delete a bar, select it and type "/mac delete"thanks buddyy. found it! it just hit me in the face like... omg!!! right... now i gotta find the menu and bags for macaroon. hehe. also, i've figured that a lot of the buttons were messing up because of new skills and some changes to skill names. i guess they're actually macro problems. i havent had much time to configure macaroon, instead i've been tweaking other addons. ok will work on configuring all my buttons this weekend. 3.0 really is a pain but so far some of the little tweaks to the game are great. the new talents are super cool to play with but an agony to decide over... sometimes.

I've taken the new patch as an opportunity to redo my entire interface and macro system. Using what I have learned over the last year, has caused me to have a lot of temporary modifications in place. So I deleted (well moved to a backup area) the WTF and Addons folder.
I now have a very clean, fast, and most importantly, a multiboxer focused interface. I have also completely moved away from hardware boxing to a single system and Keyclone. Here are the mods I am using...
Jamba (incredible addon, great job Jafula)
Macaroon (w/ xtras)
Pitbull
Bindpad
Archud
Bagnon
Mik Scrolling Battle Text
Dotimer
* Still needed
Proximo (not doing arena atm)
Group Questing Mod (still trying out different ones)
I also recently switched from QuestHelper to Carbonite. Carbonite actually replaced both QuestHelper and Cartographer. The major drawback with Carbonite is that it doesnt show me other party members quest status, which is very important to a multiboxer. Or if it does, I have not figured it out yet. I am using the free version btw.
Here is my must have list.
Jamba
Pitbull
Bagnon
Mik Scrolling Battle Text
Carbonite
I plan on trying Macaroon tonight. :D

Agreed. I prefer Carbonite by far over QuestHelper. Can't beat that google map-like minimap in my opinion.

I turned off the punks window though.
If I could figure a way to get the waypoint arrow to let me type the coordinates in Carbonite would be perfect for me.
I have been using carbonite for a while now. It's is my second favorite mod, right after Jamba, in my addon's folder. Its 11 bucks a year and well worth it. No need for map mods, quest mods, or button wranglers. It even shows what you have in your inventory. It will show your party, and other carbonite users including what quest they are on, on your map... + much more. I use Jamba, xperl unit frames, ArcHud, Macaroon, Healbot, Titan Panel and Prat. No conflicts with Carbonite. Nice GUI as well.
I switched from QuestHelper to Carbonite Quest (free version). I was very impressed at first. Then I realized that Carbonite does not inform you of your alt's quest progression. I removed it and came back to QuestHelper just for that.
Im chasing a decent replacement for fubar atm if anyone has any ideas.
Mainly durabilityfu and performancefu.
Preferably not titan panel

Preferably not titan panelif you are just looking to display those pieces of data (amongst others), i recommend statuswindow2. fubar was always total overkill for my needs. statuswindow lets you display info where ever you like. in my case i have it worked into my cutesy eepanels that wrap my chat boxes.

carbonite is incredibly useful, tho it took a fair bit of tweaking for me to get it displaying what i wanted when i wanted.

Grab Macaroon xtras for menu and bag bar handling.have you been able to get a pet bar working through macaroon? that is the one trinity feature i haven't been able to replicate. sadly, i'm using ct_bar just to display my petbar. feels wasteful. =(

Thats perfect. One thing i always got annoyed with, with fubar was when i moused over the alts screens. (i use a qud split on a single monitor) and the mouse would stay open on one of the fubar items covering half the screen

I had my pet bar working (tried to make a possess bar and seem to have broken it), in the bar options you can tick the pet option to make it a pet bar. Then you need to make the active state 'pet' (by left clicking the bar until the state changes to the right one), I think finally you need to add buttons and then change them so they are the 'pet ID' type.
As I said, mine was working, but I think I broke it by fiddling around.
And a few addon questions of my own:
a) Anyone know if you can get an addon to display information from another toon of your choosing (more details in a few), I'm trying to set up two druids for multiboxing and would love to be able to see the following information from either toon (but not get swamped if I'm in a group/raid with others):
1. DoT/HoT duration
2. Cooldowns (not sure how configurable ct_raid/oRA2 are, but that's what I have at the moment with cooldowns hidden)
3 Temp buffs - e.g. eclipse/nature's grace
I know addons which do this for one character, but wasnt sure if there are any which will let me share that information between two characters.
b) <-being too lazy to look, anyone know if gatherer is working? One of my toons is a herbalist, so I'd like to be able to see any potential nodes from the non-herber (and I think gatherer can do this, I just never got around to installing it).
c) I'm using bagnon for my single characters, it makes one bag, but also lets me know in the tooltip how many of each item I have (and if it's in my bags or bank), anyone know if it would be possible to share this information across accounts? I'm using windows XP if that makes any difference. Or if there's another addon which does the bag thing, but lets you share across accounts (I used to have one which did something slightly different, but let you send data to someone else), preferably not something with too much other junk added in.
