Hi everyone and thanks for the time to read this post.

I live in France, Paris but I'm not French. I only play game English versions and I really have a hard time with localizations. Of course I speak and write fluent French but it's just that all game terms are translated... tried it in TBC, it was a really bad experience ^^.

I was wondering if someone here had any kind of hint of how someone in my case is able to get WotLK in English in France at time for release.
The best I can get is around one week after being shipped from England.

Thanks all and keep on the good side of Multiboxing ;)

EU keys are not language specific, only region.
so you will need to get the English version installed somehow but you can use the French key to upgrade the account.

which kind of internet connection are you on ?

I can make you an iso of the wotlk install media on the day, and fix you an ftp you can download it from (provided there is no downloadlink on Blizz).

Perhaps contact customer support - blizzard store as a feature, where if you add your cd-keys to your blizzard account, you can download media to the cd-keys from there.

PM me, if the blizzard thing doesn't work out, and I'll hook you up. (I have 25mbit upstream, so less than an hour if you can max it for a full dvd)

The issue here is really getting that ONE ;).

Blizzard already stated that online downloading will only be available sometime after release date. I guess it's mostly to protect stores selling their product and not to compete "unfairly" with them. They said something like "Everyone will need a DvD reader..."

I live far from the central so I only have a 1Mb download :/. You'll have a very slow leecher hanging on your ftp most of the day... I'm thinking of some other ways of doing it... maybe from a friend's house, something. It's a really generous offer mate... mostly appreciated. We'll keep in touch ;)

no worries - I have 5 boxes on pre-order reserved for me, will be picking them up a few minutes after midnight at the release party in downtown copenhagen.

I can have a rip and ftp access ready for you, so you can download it during the night and be ready sometime during the afternoon the day after.

If you only have 1mbit downstream, it will take you some 12 hours or so to down it. I'll make sure to split it into .rar files of 15meg size or so, that way a screwed transfer wont have you start all over again.

[edit] Ah, read your Pm - guess you meant you can pull up to 1 mbyte / s - so it will take about 2 hours or so - still, I'll do the rar'ing anyway, and make a .sfv file so you can check the files for defects
