I saw the post in Screenshots (8in1 SingleBoxing ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=13431')) and I'm posting here because perhaps the "screenshots" section may not have enough coverage as this area... If this is against rules I'll delete post >;]

If he's running 8 with quad-core, would it be feasible to run 4 clients (1 top, 3 below on 1680x1050 with KeyClone maximizer layout on website) with an AMD 5000+ black 64 bit dual core @ 3.0ghz, 4gb ram, nVidia 9600gt OC'd? Also will using symbolic linking improve performance? I've read in two different places that it will increase performance, and elsewhere that it will decrease performance? I have Ubuntu 8.10 beta 64bit and Vista 32bit.... Wondering if anyone else has experience with this and which OS on paper with my setup should give me the greatest fps...

Also some suggestions on settings on each. I'm reading that people are cranking up settings so that when I do the PiP swap that the large window will still have a good resolution.

Only dual-boxing right now, but I want to step up to the 4 box mage or 4 shaman teams...

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

0. reply to the original post, i'd be suprised if someone wouldn't find it and reply, especially since I am surely not the only less than bleeding edge multiboxer out there.

1. enough horsepower? absolutely...i was able to 5box with an AMD AM2/940 model 1220 (dual core, 2.8GHz cpu freq, 1MB cache/core) + 4GB ram and a crappy 256MB graphics card and the cpu load was fine. The cpu frequency is almost the most important thing as long as you have >=2 cores :o).

2. symbolic linking? try it out, but I would guess yes...i was running 5 accounts out of 1 wow dir on the above machine and have lag in org...I have since made 5 copies on 1 HD and had MASSIVE lag in all cities with SHatt being impossible. I have since symbolic linked the drives and can happily /train through shatt all day now.

3. misc...if anything you may have RAM issues with 32bit winders and not being able to see all 4GB although with 4 accounts you should be just fine.
