View Full Version : Server is slow at the moment, getting hit by every major news site

Traffic on the site is about 20x higher than normal, and is making the server squeal, my apologies for the slowness - hopefully by the end of today it will be back to normal, that or I'm going to need to upgrade the server again :) If anyone's looking for #'s there has been about 3000-4000 concurrent users on the site all weekend.

Indeed, the server IS slow.. meh.. took me like half an hour to finally get this post out....

WTF? I'm only boxing 36 accounts. It's not that big of a deal. It will be a big deal when I go to 60 accounts, but that won't happen until after the expansion is released.

I just had to tell some people asking me about boxing that the site is down and they should try again later.
not a big deal unless people insist on trying mboxing the second they see it.

WTF? I'm only boxing 36 accounts. It's not that big of a deal. It will be a big deal when I go to 60 accounts, but that won't happen until after the expansion is released.

Just enter "bradster multi" into your search engine and you'll realize:
Bradster is a big star now!

The way even huge magazines just copy and paste things and sell them for "information" troubles me.
Not a single one of them obviously tried to verify before repeating - they could at least have read the post on the portal. It's what I'd expect from any kind of journalism, even in the unsignificant world of computer games.

In this particular case it's easy for us to go and look for ourselves, but if that's the quality of other daily news we get then...

... uhmm ... /cry. I opened the thing with "Prepared the 36 Boxer etc". Who knew this would happen. I assure everyone that's not what I intended! It's like giving you credit for saving someones life, when you never did it. Only less dramatic in this case XD. At least some of the major ones have the facts correct, I only hope the smaller ones follow.I also changed the front page to underline whats going on. Now to hit resend on this post 100 times and It might happen within an hour lol.

Don't get me wrong about the "big star" thing. I know you didn't intend that kind of reaction, and it's not your fault people don't read thoroughly...
As a matter of fact I don't envy you in your position either.

Well, G4 Techtv is still saying it's you Brad lol. Personally, I thought the whole thing was amusing. Especially the obvious lack of research on the part of pretty much everyone reporting the "story".
