My computer is strange
As subjected, i am running vista 32 bit but forfor some reasons I can see 7 gb ram installed - -
been reading and looks to me that 32 bit only support max 4gb
might be because i did install 64 bit , flash bios - then format my pc re-install 32 bit (coz 64 bit work like hell with wow)
any idea ? Not sure if I should flash bios. I am using Asus p5k-se/psu btw.

If you are running 32bit, it might show up 7gb ram, but you never use more then 3.2-3.5gb.
Flash bios, why woud you do that? And Why woud you run 32bit if you got 7bg ram?

i have to come back to 32 bit because 64 bit is giving me headache with delay/lag when playing 4 instances of wow ;(
Had to flash bios, update ICH software because compatibility issues I had with vista 64 bits.
I don't know what went wrong there at first fresh install 64 bits, wows ran a bit okay altho it got some delays. the day after, it get worse with the lag. Was trying out 4 cows shammies... uninstalled stuffs still no improvement.
anyone else here using 64 bits, got any tips to share. I googled and see many post pointed 64bit does not go well with wow since wow does not fully support 64 bit

I'm running 64 bit myself, running smooth as cream with 5 up on 1 computer.
Are you 100% sure you intalled all the right drivers, with 64 support?

7GB sounds fishy.
Given that you have to install matched memory DIMMs in pairs and they come in sizes of 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, it should be impossible to get 7GB installed. Unless you have a motherboard with 6 memory slots, and installed 2x2GB, 2x1GB and 2x512MB.
How much memory does the BIOS report at power on?

yes each drivers I used are for 64bits.
did you do anything special ? running any extra tweak app for 64 bit ?

Vista 64 here also with nothing special installed. No issues running 5 accounts. In fact, no issues at all.

very strange
where you are running wow from ? C? or other drive ? mine was running from D: , now trying to run it from C
What video card you are using ? Nvidia or ATi ? - mine is msi 9800gtx+ - 178.15 gforce
I noticed the master toon window will show delay - master toon move, and couple of second delay on slaves. on slaves instance I do not see any delay. I don't know what is going on.
coould it be the net lag ?
regarding memory - i don't think it is the problem doesn't matter which config i am putting mems on, giving the same lag result.
i did instlal all 64 bit drivers, d/l from manufacturer site - except gforce coz the nvidia only got 178.13 the latest
btw can you note down your spec ? i will compare it with mine - all drivers etc - thanks in advance

I run my main from a D, slaves from E. (windows in on C) All separate harddrives. Each charakter got theyr own wowfolder.
I run Q9550, 8800GTS 620mb, 6gb ram(2x2gb/2x1gb)

this "lag" you mention - describe it a bit more
Let me venture a guess: you're looking at your mains screen - you press jump, and you see your main jump and then the slaves jump about 0.5 seconds later ?
Yet, if you focus on a slaves screen, press jump, then your slave jumps right away, and your main jumps 0.5 seconds after ?
If so, then you are just watching the builtin delay, that wow has to equalize peoples connections. what you see, when watching one client looks like lag to you. To everyone else in the game, your toons jump at the exact same time.
Think of it this way: you press jump on 2 clients at the exact same time, sending the commands to the server - when the builtin lag passes, they both jump. The jump is then sent back to other clients for them to see.
Try this: fire up a second computer, and log your slave onto that. Place them facing eachother. Use 2 keyboards. Press jump on both, at the exact same time. On each screen, you will se the other toon jumping 0.5 seconds after the toon you're controlling.

Vista 32 will display however much RAM you have installed in your system, even if it's more than 4GB. However, it can only use the first 3.x GB of it (where x depends on a few factors). How you got 7GB installed, I don't know. 3x 2GB and 1x 1GB?

it is pretty much like you said but not 0.5 sec more like 5 secs or more , also when running around in group - delay on master window, casting spell - i have to wait until everyone come to stop and cast the spell else master will be the only one that cast. As multiboxer, this sort of thing will be problem isn't it
been trying to find out what is the problem here , so far no luck whatsoever.

That's the old way of thinking (matched pairs, no if, ands or buts) The new hotness is Prime numbers. 2, 3, 7 :-P
As far as displaying and using, yeah, 32 operating systems can only effectively utilize 4gb total ram (that's total including you video bus), the new SP with Vista allows it to 'sorta' use the rest. It's not completely perfect, and doesn't compare to a 64 bit OS
