View Full Version : Paladin tank setup w/ 4 shamans
So last night I dinged 70 on my 5 shamans for my first boxing set. I immediately think now time to own some instances and get geared.....A few wipes later i think it is gonna be alot easier if I retire a shaman and use my Pally tank. So my question is what all macros and keybindings in conjunction w/ the shamans do u guys who use this setup have. Im just looking for some starters.....like w/ what on the pally you use as chain lightning or lightning bolt and should the pally be the new master? Sorry If I skipped over a previous post but I've been looking for hours but couldnt find a real good answer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You basically just need a button to park your shaman - i.e. break follow; e.g. back arrow (I have it mapped to the 4th mouse button).
setup - pally is the focus and driver. (shamans follow pally)
This is what I do
1) walk to about 20 yard from a group of stuff you want to kill
2) park your shamans (i.e. stop you shamans from following your paladin)
3) put down your totems as you move your paladin forward
4) attack the monsters with your paladin - I generally use normal mouse clicks for attacks (consecration, judge etc...)
5) once you get a bit of aggro with the pally, spam your lightning bolt/CL with a key (I use the "f" and "r" keys for LB and CL.
you should be attacking whatever your pally has targeted.
6) loot the corpses
7) drink because your pally is probably out of mana
You can also set on of the shamans to heal by using the macro /cast [target=focustargettarget] chain heal
substitute this for the main lightning bolt key on one of the shamans. This will heal whatever your pallies target is attacking - which is usually who needs the heal.
Thanks! the macro is awesome too!!!....I went made one shaman resto and through different quest items and enchants i have her healing at 1200 unbuffed and it has made a difference...the dps is a lil slower but the pally can hold everyone for years with her healing....still trying to get it all down so i can regularly farm for gear and practice for wotlk
